I went for a great ride today on a bike path after I installed njcustom's fender (which has now replaced my Future Motion fender- thanks nj), since I wanted to test it out. I rode the furthest I have ever ridden on a single charge. I'm a light weight dude, so that helps, but I was very happy with 8 miles of nice carving on the path at an average of 11mph (in Extreme Mode), and happy with the fender. I have a soft spot for carbon fiber.

here are some pics of my last session. the quality isn´t too good, because it is just a snapshot out of a slow-motion video, which a friend of mine took with his mobile phone, when we were cruising in the woods.

the weird thing about it is, that this actually isn´t a half-pipe. It is on top of a ventilation outlet of a tunnel (on the top of a hill).
that means you have to be a little bit careful, because on each side it is like 8-12 meters to the ground and it doesn´t look like you could survive that.

@thegreck: the footage is just poor quality, a few seconds mobile phone, so not worth the time for editing. i might do a real video-clip with two of my OW mates in summer where we take "best of" shots from different spots (we have a lot of them here!), because one of them is a professional filmer - but lets see if we can find the time.

@cr4p can you carve a half pipe or does it confuse the sensor when your vertical? Can you get height on a half pipe?

@tony420121: both is no problem, the sensor reacts perfect on a half pipe. getting height is no problem. i could probably get a little bit higher, if I would take more speed and stay on the sensor a little bit longer, but i was a very afraid to fall over the ramp...

in fact it was way more easier than i thought it would be...

Really? I haven't tried it but I'd think that when you're trying to go up the ramp, the fact that the tail is pointed down would make the Onewheel fight what you're trying to do.

@thegreck Have you tried it on a ramp? The board does fine as long as you still push down on the front of the board. It's the same as going up a steep hill. The board doesn't fight you at all.

Bowl session $$$

@fabuz how did the OW do in the bowl? I was going to give this a try but did not know if was pointless due to the front or back always dragging on the bowl surface.

@LidPhones stating the obvious here but while Onewheels don't handle bowls as well as traditional skateboards, they can be fun. In the photo @fabuz posted, where there's some flat and a nice transition up the sides, you can generate some nice speeds on the deck, carve up and sweep those sides and either just roll right out of them, or like @fabuz shows, you can come down steep and ride the tail. I found that switching to elevated helps. I've also messed around a little bit in more of a pool-like bowl (down at Venice Beach) that had essentially vertical sides, and I wasn't really able to get very high up. Truth be told for a long time I've been dreaming about dropping in off the side of a pool but being that I'm almost 1000% certain it won't end well, I've not given it a try.

They are showing it in Vegas at CES. My buddy who has owned a OneWheel for two years said he couldn't tell the difference really. Thought it was very similar. I would say if you are a person who likes to go super fast it could be a good option but V1 is almost as good. Don't spend the money if you already have a V1 and money is an issue and or you are expecting a big difference. Bottom line difficult to improve a product that was crazy awesome already! @BradK
