From the few leaks and partial photos - at least it looks very adaptable - I'm on board for one - we shall see today

Probably a yes for me just to have the option for coffee runs, even in the rain.

I'll be ordering at least one.

I'll get one. Should help a lot to keep the board clean. Have no idea what they will charge, probably not less than $75 and not more than $200.

  • J-Glide
    J-Glide @Franky 13 August 2015, 13:12 UTC

    @Franky i'm hoping it's less than 75

Based upon how reasonably priced replacement footpads are, I am fairly certain the fender should be more than affordable. Although I will probably order a couple of them for extreme conditions I am still a fan of exposed tires.

Where do you buy the replacement footpads btw. All I see for a "store" is the OW as a whole unit.

They really need to fix a proper shop page where they list all the stuff they sell... And start selling more stuff.

  • sidebox @MichaelW 13 August 2015, 15:45 UTC

@MichaelW Definitely getting one. The only time I will snap it on is when it is wet/raining, though. I am very excited to avoid a sock full of mud!

I'm in for one. For some reason if I don't like it, take it off.

The fender is Facebook official now! Is it available to order as of yet?

  • D
    DVO 13 August 2015, 19:03 UTC

I just asked on their FB page when it will be available

  • Franky
    Franky 13 August 2015, 19:40 UTC

You guys think this will snap on and off? I'm guessing it attaches using the footpad screws.

  • M
    mikeyjihad 13 August 2015, 19:45 UTC

@Franky I think you are right about the screws,

  • M
    mikeyjihad 13 August 2015, 19:48 UTC

I feel that if the fender and the foot pads are not flush, that would kind of defeat the purpose of the wheel cover in the first place

  • Franky
    Franky 13 August 2015, 19:53 UTC

I guess there are screws right next to the foot pads on the rails that could be used for the fender. It's possible those were put there for accessories in the first place. I don't have my board with me so I can't see if those are serving any current purpose.

    mikeyjihad 13 August 2015, 19:57 UTC

I think you may be right....stilll! Haha, it should only be a matter of time before we can mount flamethrowers on our boards!

@mikeyjihad I will definitely be replacing those screws with butterfly screws, so I can take it off by hand.

    Dan @sidebox 14 August 2015, 02:25 UTC

    @sidebox
I feel like that would be quite ugly and take away from the aesthetics of the fender.

  • sidebox
    sidebox @Dan 14 August 2015, 02:27 UTC

@Dan There are low profile black ones that I've seen that will not stick out at all. Should be unnoticeable. They look like these, but not as tall:

I think it will come down to pricing, ease of mount/dismount and durability..

If it's cheap, it seems like a no-brainer for beach days or wet pavement/grass.

    DVO 14 August 2015, 04:34 UTC

Shouldn't be that much, just a piece of plastic with holes

  • veryous
    veryous 14 August 2015, 05:42 UTC

hmmm I wonder if on the inside it'll have a wall down past the deck so water just doesn't come in between the deck and cover. Till tomorrow I guess....

  • Franky
    Franky 14 August 2015, 06:30 UTC

The cover will be sealed around the deck. That photo above is misleading. Also I don't think there is another announcement. Or do they go on sale at 12:12?

  • sidebox
    sidebox @Franky 14 August 2015, 15:16 UTC

@Franky What is making you say 12:12? I am pretty sure they won't be available for purchase until September.

Google "onewheel fender" and you can check out the store placeholder. It's all written in some super rough Latin thought and translates to gibberish. They also have placeholders for shirts and stuff as well.

@rev-cresci Glad to see the fender is only $10 ;-)

  • J-Glide

@mikeyjihad according to the web page listed above, an extra charger is also $10. I know this to not be true at all. They are $125. I have to agree with you.

  • J-Glide
    J-Glide @veryous 15 August 2015, 02:32 UTC

@veryous did you order off this?

  • veryous
    veryous @J-Glide 15 August 2015, 05:40 UTC

@J-Glide Oh hell no. I'm an uber paranoid person. =) I'm sure they'll announce something all official like.
