@marcelo Okay... I know zero about electrical terms. Is ~6 times the same as 6 times?

This looks like a very interesting option http://www.godox.com/EN/Products_Portable_Power_Inverter_LP450&LP800x.html

It can be charged via the mains or a car battery. You can carry spare battery's that clip on/off and it looks like it could recharge the OW capably a few times? Downside is cost, but if it significantly extends the range of the OW then it's worth it!

The inverter and battery together are about half the weight of the OW (just over 6kg) so should be relatively easy to carry in the supplied shoulder bag, a backpack, or possibly even in one of compartments of the One Penny Bag by @Jimmers75 (I have not checked the dimensions).

It is pure sine wave and 900W or 1400W. Can anyone see a reason why this would not work?

@claypole Is the cost listed there somewhere and I missed it?

@thegreck I seen these for sale on euro sites for almost $800 --- I am looking for something small with the inverter built in, (not wanting just a battery that I have to plug an inverter into then plug my OW charger into...too much gear IMO) I only really want one charge out of it.....I will have to wait for something innovative from FM or one of the e-bike companies....I haven't found anything meets that...bummer

@parrothd I bought this one. It's the same thing but $50 cheaper. I am getting 1.5 to 1.75 charges on mine. The warmer the weather the better the charge.

It takes about 10 minutes longer to charge than off the wall. Carrying it in a backpack is not a problem at all. The only downside is that it it take around 3.5 hours to recharge the thing.

I bought this one, and it charges just as fast as a regular outlet. I found it on eBay for $25 NPower Inverter0_1462872453787_5142hAXvkoL.jpg

@parrothd I'm interested, about how many OW recharges can you get from this before it needs to be charged?

I haven't used it much, only 3-4 charges total, the last time I used it had enough juice for 2 charges, with maybe a little left over. It seems to charge the one wheel at the same rate as the wall outlet..

Brianmn may have better stats, usually I'm done after 1 charge.. Lol

@JimBarnes I have been charging mine with a wegan 400 watt sine wave inverter. I have it hooked up to a deep cycle 35 amp hour battery. Works great. I have tried using cheap inverters but they just don't work good and hard on electrical equipment. Not worth burning out a $120 one wheel charger. Let me know if you have anymore questions about it I have rigged many devices like this.

@thegreck I recommend you use a pure sine wave inverter. Wegan manufacturers them. Get at least a 400 watt to make sure it will change the onewheel. You can hook it up directly to car/truck battery or a deep cycle battery. Google pure sine wave inverter.

@JimBarnes Is this one still working well for you? I want to get one that will charge two OW's at a time. I'm surprised they recommended a modified wave...

@wr420 have you had a good experience with that one? I'm actually looking for one that will charge two OW at a time. 600W is cutting it close.

@noahsw I just ordered it so I have not tried it yet. I have used a few smaller modified sine wave inverters around the 350-400 watt range that have worked but figured at this price I would try it out and see if it will charge 2. I'll let you know.

I am also looking for something to charge two at once! I will be interested in hearing your feedback. My only concern is that it only has two reviews.

I was thinking about this one because it has more reviews:

@RandomNate that's the best one I've found so far but it doesn't come with battery clamps. For some reason their 300W version does. And I can't for the life of me find clamps to eyelet cables for under $50 which seems crazy!

I bought the Chafon 346 WH portable power supply. I charged my board during stops over the weekend- totaling probably 1 full charge and the capacity was still at 100%. It weighs 7.5 pounds but I honestly couldn't tell it was in my backpack. It came with several charging cords- car, AC, and 6 in 1 for phones, etc. So far I am pleased with purchase.

@bdech15 Do you know if it can charge two OW's at the same time? I see it's rated at 500W with a peak of 1000W. I believe each OW is around 275-300 though...

@noahsw when I was charging the onewheel the capacity showed 53% remaining, which leads me to believe the answer would be yes...assuming one is only consuming 47% of available capacity. If my plus gets here anytime soon I will test it out, right now I only have one board.

@bdech15 I just ordered the Chafon...seems to be a perfect solution in a relatively small package. I'll use it for my drone batteries while on the road as well.

@tony420121 I got the higher capacity 346 WHrs. It costs more, but the weight appears to be almost the same. Also, at 346 WHrs I'm pretty sure you can fully charge a dead OW twice without the need to recharge the unit.

@noahsw ok the good, the bad, and yet to be determined.

Off to a good start..DOA out the box.

Power switch indicated it was on but only 10-20v AC out of the outlets. OW chargers not coming on. Redid everything twice 2 different ways. Verified with meter.

Took it apart. Looked ok inside. Not great.

Put it back together. Tried again and it's working. Charged 2 OW's that were between 85-89% in 5 or less minutes.
I have not compared this, but in the ow app, one board was -3.8-3.9Current Amps, the other -4.0. Last item under settings.

You can compare this to the reading you get while charging from the wall.

I'll test it again this week and see if I can set my car on fire with this thing.

I have This one I'm not sure how similar it is to these other yellow portable power supplies, but with mine, 1 in 10 times I use it, it unbalances one of my cells and I have to run the board down to 0% and recharge it from a wall outlet to fix it. That being said, I still use it often and it's worth the small extra hassle
