veryous @SC720 9 September 2015, 17:39 UTC
@SC720 haha yeah I got a shirt too. $130 later for some plastic, cotton and shipping. =)
-
TThatGuy 9 September 2015, 17:50 UTC
I wonder how much a new battery will be.
-
joshuadmay 9 September 2015, 17:55 UTC
It would be cool to have replacement rails on the refresh packages
I ordered my fender 👍🏻
-
DDVO 9 September 2015, 20:05 UTC
Ordered my fender today :) :)
-
Franky 10 September 2015, 02:50 UTC
Also ordered the fender now! Pricing on all parts seems reasonable given the price of the product. I wonder if they replace batteries with the service inspection or just let you know if your batteries need to be upgraded for an extra cost I'd hope that would be included for what they are charging. 100 bucks sounds fine for a tire change. After a couple months of riding mine is still in great condition.
-
ThatGuy 10 September 2015, 02:58 UTCT
The wording suggests that replacing the battery is not included.
-
kjmedora 10 September 2015, 07:10 UTC
What happened to the discount for Kickstarter backers. That was promised by them for the fender.
-
lynnpreston 10 September 2015, 15:23 UTC
Tire change was $150 for me (east coast).
-
mikeyjihad 10 September 2015, 15:29 UTCM
$190 later I have fresh foot pads, crash blocks and a fender on the way!
-
parrothd 10 September 2015, 16:12 UTC
I bought the fender, just need my board back from service.. :(
-
DVO 11 September 2015, 06:50 UTCD
Sooooo, anyone know the shipping o=time on the fender? Couldn't find anything
-
veryous @DVO 11 September 2015, 18:24 UTC
@DVO me neither.
-
J-Glide 12 September 2015, 04:04 UTC
Why so much for the fender??? Foot pads are only $50 with a built in sensor, wood, grip tape, and assembly time, but a piece of round plastic stamped out by a machine in .5 seconds that probably weighs less than a Frisbee is $85. Why??? I am obviously missing something here.
-
veryous @J-Glide 12 September 2015, 05:55 UTC
@J-Glide Engineering, cost, development, umm, third party, something something help me here...can justify because it's only a small percentage of board cost, umm....maybe cause it's first run. I'm too tired to come up with other ideas to make me feel better. haha =) All I know is my right shoe may start to actually match the left shoe again.
-
J-Glide @veryous 12 September 2015, 08:23 UTC
@veryous I will be ordering one too, but I'm just trying to figure this out.
-
Iintra 12 September 2015, 14:22 UTC
Anyone in Australia want to go for a group buy to save on shipping?
Shipping is 58% the cost of a new fender alone, little steep for a single order.
-
TT-CAT 13 September 2015, 02:49 UTC
It makes me wonder now when these fenders will start shipping. If anyone gets a shipping confirmation, please let us know.
-
BadWolf 13 September 2015, 11:05 UTC
I´ve decided not to buy the fender, but to actually vaccum form it myself. The price is reasonable, but I figured that for the same cost, I can build my own, and learn something new along the way =D
-
BBrutha Man @BadWolf 13 September 2015, 14:48 UTC
@BadWolf if it works. Let me/us know. I'd buy a homemade one
-
BadWolf @Brutha Man 13 September 2015, 15:10 UTC
@Brutha-Man Will do. I would have the mold complete
-
Polle 15 September 2015, 10:49 UTC
Anyone from Belgium interested in ordering together?
-
germx 15 September 2015, 20:31 UTC
So. T'was a rainy day, and it was time to ride home.
Now I faced a tough choice. Wet and dirty pants and shoes, or quickly come up with a makeshift fender.
Well...

-
utsu @germx 15 September 2015, 20:57 UTC
@germx ballin on a budget, love it
-
TT-CAT 15 September 2015, 20:59 UTC
LOL, now that's innovation right there. I give you credit. You've gotta do what you've gotta do when the time calls for it.
-
TThatGuy 15 September 2015, 21:10 UTC
You should charge $84.99 (+ $15 shipping) for that and steal the fender market! ;)
-
germx 15 September 2015, 21:12 UTC
Worked surprisingly well, but I need to get something proper, that's for sure.
Paying 135$ (+ VAT and customs most likely) for a fender is a bit steep =/ But it does look really good. -
njcustom 15 September 2015, 21:15 UTC
I'm going to be selling a carbon fiber version for around the same price.. If anyone cares ;)

Lmaoo 4-6 weeks
-
TT-CAT 15 September 2015, 21:27 UTC
I can't tell if you're joking or serious NJ, ha-ha. Did FM tell you 4-6 weeks?
-
njcustom @T-CAT 15 September 2015, 23:50 UTC
@T-CAT
Lol I'm kidding.. But assume it's a long wait
-
TT-CAT @njcustom 15 September 2015, 23:58 UTC
@njcustom Haha, that's what I thought. I'm expecting that wait for the most part just because they are still backed up on boards, so naturally thought it may be the case with fenders too.
Winter is coming so I'd like a fender sooner than later if I happen to be riding and get caught in the rain.
-
njcustom @T-CAT 16 September 2015, 01:23 UTC
@T-CAT
I can't wait to get the board already lol I'm at 5 week 3 days :/
-
TT-CAT 16 September 2015, 01:25 UTC
Yeah, that wait is a horrendous feeling. Hope you get yours soon!
-
Franky 16 September 2015, 02:07 UTC
Latest snapchat shows a bunch of fender size boxes being put together. Maybe they will be shipping sooner rather than later!

I'll be expecting mine today!!
-
SC720 17 September 2015, 21:59 UTC
@lynnpreston lol, there's definitely a dark helmet aspect to it.
-
DDVO 17 September 2015, 23:05 UTC
Got mine! Very light! We'll see soon how durable it is. But it really compliments the onewheel well!
-
NNYC 18 September 2015, 01:42 UTC
Looks pretty clunky to be honest. Oh well. I get mine Wednesday, gonna wrap it.
-
megabuen0 18 September 2015, 03:06 UTC
Def might pick up one for myself in about a month from now after some user feedback a.
-
Wwillcapellaro 18 September 2015, 04:03 UTC
Curious if junk will get stuck or if this will actually solve that problem. I find myself ankle deep in pea gravel too often.
-
shaunabe 18 September 2015, 04:36 UTC
@lynnpreston instant classic. May the Schwartz be with you!
-
Llardnicus @intra 18 September 2015, 05:18 UTC
@intra I'm in Brisbane right now, where are you? I'm not buying the fender but I do think we need an Aussie group or something so we can pool our resources...
-
BadWolf 18 September 2015, 14:56 UTC
Question. If I would actually be able to make a decent mold. Would a tripod mount on the fender be a good idea?
-
eish @BadWolf 18 September 2015, 20:57 UTC
@BadWolf wouldn't you just get a whole lot of leg?
-
SC720 19 September 2015, 03:07 UTC
So far riding around on a dirt trail and pebble ridden parking lot it keeps everything off your back leg as the fender sits flush with the foot pad...Only thing is small twigs and brush make a sound like they are stuck in there and rubbing against the wheel. They obviously dont stop or throw you and they go away eventually...Speeding up helps! It's cool so far. Those in wet weather will need it this winter.
-
SC720 19 September 2015, 03:08 UTC
Will be testing it out on the beach tomorrow also.
-
talktoDJ @lynnpreston 19 September 2015, 13:52 UTC
@lynnpreston LMAO at this!
-
sidebox 19 September 2015, 16:40 UTC
Question: I like to put a foot up on the wheel when I'm waiting at traffic lights, can the fender support this, or will it buckle and touch the wheel?
-
SC720 19 September 2015, 17:04 UTC
@sidebox It can support it...its very sturdy.
-
germx 21 September 2015, 09:30 UTC
Ordered a fender today, and a whole set of spare parts due to shipping (and a shirt).
Soon there will be no more BoxFender™ for me :stuck_out_tongue: .
Weather is getting rather poor now, and I want to keep riding!–:black_circle:– -
Polle 21 September 2015, 10:38 UTC
Think I should order one too...

-
BadWolf @Polle 21 September 2015, 11:28 UTC
@Polle I would say yes to that..
-
Franky 21 September 2015, 12:07 UTC
Mine is being delivered today though I won't be able to use it until my board is fixed. Could have used it on this day....

-
veryous @Franky 21 September 2015, 22:05 UTC
@Franky board fixed what?
-
utsu 21 September 2015, 23:04 UTC
Lol, holy hell those pics.
-
A. Sant 21 September 2015, 23:24 UTC
Note: Avoid freshly mowed lawns!
-
Franky 22 September 2015, 03:44 UTC
@veryous growling sounds and rumbling motor started yesterday. Sounds familiar to what others have experienced to which the only solution is to send it in for service. I contacted support yesterday...still waiting for a response. I am a five day ship from ca so that is two weeks just for shipping. Then it sounds like service times are not what they used to be so I'm assuming I'll be out of commission for over a month.
-
Iintra @lardnicus 22 September 2015, 03:48 UTC
@lardnicus Hey mate, im in Perth , Western Austalia.
Agree, need to see if we can do a group deal.
-
TT-CAT 22 September 2015, 04:27 UTC
Just got my OneWheel :). I will soon begin the digital camo vinyl wrap job on the fender and the side rails of the board. I'll post pictures tomorrow when it's done. The vinyl company sent me the wrong camo, but no biggie, I'll go with it. If I don't like it, I'll change it.
-
J-Glide @Franky 22 September 2015, 14:19 UTC
@Franky
Julian said it was just a matter of adjusting something. He adjusted mine and it hasn't made the noise since. -
MichaelW 22 September 2015, 22:11 UTC
I just got the batman fender! It is so awesome! No more pebbles in my shoes on neighborhood rides!! I love it... Also, still fits my mini blue tooth nicely on the side.
PS: I vote for blue tooth speaker to be built into version 2.

-
veryous @Franky 22 September 2015, 23:42 UTC
@Franky I really wish someone would post a video of this. hint hint I've heard "things" on my board but just keep riding. =)
-
Franky 23 September 2015, 01:05 UTC
@veryous check this out. rumbling or grinding noise
There is a noise and motion you can feel happening in the wheel before I start moving. Start moving and the noise gets worse.
I've been riding for about three months now and this is my first issue. Can't ride it this way. Along with the noise you can feel resistance and I probably can't get above 8 mph right now.
Fm responded back today asking for a video and a screenshot of my settings probably to confirm what they believe to be the issue.
One thing to note is I just realized one of the small screws on the hub holding to motor is missing. I wonder if junk could get into the hub through it.

-
Franky 23 September 2015, 01:19 UTC
Also got my fender today. Yay? Lol
-
parrothd 23 September 2015, 01:20 UTC
Added a little carbon fiber... :)
