@PhobicTribe many of us if not all of us got the run around.. They doubled the wait time after I paid and would have never told me if I didn't email them week 6..now at week 9 and got atleast 2-3 more weeks to wait.. So they told me :(

Not to defend OneWheel because I think they have to work harder to be accurate with their customers but I paid a deposit and have been waiting for a Tesla SUV for going on 3 years! A car they said would be delivered 2 years ago! Still haven't even driven the car... lol... My guess is I will get it by Feb but who knows? Elon is making the OneWheel team look pretty good... Bottom line every person who sees a OneWheel wants one! Its not going to get better any time soon... My compassion goes out to all who are waiting for their boards... It sucks to be told one thing and feel like you are getting the run around! I feel that now with a board they told me would be fixed asap and its been 3 weeks... I try to keep reminding myself that they are probably doing the best that they can. I have gotten more joy out of the board that almost anything I have bought in the last 10 years! In the end I am just grateful they invented it :)

FM's post says that they had stopped production altogether for some period of time due to a parts shortage -- something else they neglected to tell us. Who knows how far behind they are now. Stuff happens. I just wish they'd level with us.

I'm really sorry but I think I know what's causing the delays...

I've been riding my onewheel non-stop since it's arrived and everyone who has seen it wants one so judging from the reaction I've been getting I'm sure I've been responsible for a massive spike in orders.

I'll stop riding it for a couple of days for you to let them catch up :D

But seriously, it will arrive, the extra week or two will be forgotten and forgiven the moment you get on that thing and float down the street for the first time.

@lardnicus its not an extra week or 2.. They told me 4-6 weeks and now I'm almost 10 weeks and they emailed me last week saying late October early November making it 11-12 weeks.. An extra week would be OK, 6+more not ok

@njcustom. Just want to say that while waiting sucks what's worse is waiting with a bad attitude. FM is trying to supply from grass roots beginnings an amazingly sophisticated cutting edge technology that people are going to put through all manner of abuse and conditions. While the onewheel looks more simple than a conventional as a skateboard, it is basically alien technology reverse engineered from roswell. This crazy consumer mentality that the world should revolve perfectly around the consumer is unrealistic. Consider what it would take for you to first breath life into a concept as grand as the onewheel and then establish reliable manufacturing to get it to the public. All while satisfying your investors and your bottom line. The wait is agonizing like you said with hours feeling like days, days like weeks etc. Just have patience and faith that this is a truly unique and incredible blessing even being able to look forward to such things as a Onewheel. We are living in an age where vast resources are available and directable towards man's wildest dreams! Keep a good attitude and keep dreaming!

To answer the how you have to look back at their track record. They have over promised ship dates since the beginning and have not stopped. Thankfully they have also over delivered on the product which makes it all worth while.

It was smart of them to go from 8 to 10 weeks advertised delivery. I purchased right before it changed to 10 and did everything I could to hold them to 8 but still ended up waiting close to 11.

When they went to 4-6 weeks I immediately felt there was little chance of that happening since everybody getting tracking at the time were all around 10 weeks. Obviously they felt they had new or better production capacity coming online and it didn't pan out.

Seems like right now again they are optimistic of higher production capacity. Again though I'll believe it when it's happening....which it will someday.

I'm just happy I have tracking for Wednesday delivery on my repaired board.

While I agree that summer is the best time to ride, I'm actually looking forward to using my board through late fall and early spring when there normally isn't as much to do. Can't snowboard without snow. Can't do water sports because it's too cold. So riding onewheel in those times will be great with warm clothes on. I'm also really looking forward to bringing my board on vacation to Marco island this January.

I'm at 10 weeks roughly now.. I emailed FM 3 days ago asking what's up. They told me my board will ship end of the month. If that's true I'll be at 12 weeks in the end...very annoyed..

Also, how are you mounting your GoPro for such great "on board" shots in the roller rink?

@kbern Thanks for all the compliments! The carbon tape is so easy! you should breeze through doing it. As far as the gopro mount, I used two mounting systems to make it work. @J-Glide Thanks for the info. OK, so I bought a longer, gooseneck arm with a clamp a while back, and the clamp was big and rugged... even bigger than yours, but it kept falling off almost right away.
I think I need a smaller arm, like the one you got, as well as some way to really bolt the setup to the board.

I feel for y'all waiting for your Onewheels. I was a kickstarter backer from the beginning and my wait time was 9 months, which was extended to about 1 year. I waited and waited as patiently as I could and then my board finally arrived. I haven't stopped smiling since. Ive rode my board at least 3x a day everyday since, and that's been over a year now. Its definitely the best thing I've ever bought.
I can guess at the delays as parts shortages from the early production boards have the first design flaws and those boards have been sent in for repair. The good thing is that the newer boards should have less issues going forward. I'm sure the controller board has been revised maybe a couple of times which had to go through re-manufacturing and that doesn't happen overnight. It would probably take a few weeks to produce a batch and then a few weeks to test functionality. I do hope you guys realize that their company consists of only a few guys. Just know that when you receive your board that it will be better than mine :) and hopefully you can smile as much as I have.
