Looks like new footpads that hopefully(fingers crossed) correct the sensor problem. Probably the reason that the current footpads have been "out of stock" for a few weeks now. Let's hope these new footpads are backwards compatible!
What sensor problem? 300 miles,,,zero sensor problem,,,
About 700 miles in, the right sensor has been giving me trouble for a week, finally stopped working for good yesterday

Ccarvewell @MichaelW 3 January 2017, 16:32 UTC
@MichaelW you were right about V2 so I'm putting my money on your predictions! I did mention in a moment of self doubt while presenting my deck idea to Jack that it would be obsolete when V2 dropped and he staired hipnotically into my eyes and said "maybe you will make decks for V2" I should have got the hint but I was really focused on trying to connect with present technology. Can't wait to get my hands on V2 and start hallucinating deck mods😵⚛️👽🙏
-
And how about more range and top speed :)
-
Please have Swappable Batteries, Please have Swappable Batteries, Please have Swappable Batteries.....
I'm tired of having to juice up all the time! -
@fabuz
That's a must is my guess.
More speed/range/torque. Probably 60V+.
Bet that'll make you happy Fabuz.. lol.. -
Battery swap would be cool! Crossing my fingers as well @slydogstroh
-
Ffaskev 3 January 2017, 17:47 UTC
I'd like more range, more speed, modular batteries, treaded and studded tire options, completely waterproof and a better app incorporating mapping, social aspect and more custom settings to adapt to terrain and the skill level of the rider.
-
This V2 announcement is likely a pre order situation. Unlikely boards will be in our hands next week. That would be too good to be true I think.
-
@MichaelW
Agreed. My guess is by May, in time for Summer.
-
Hopefully it doesn't take months to receive like the v1 lol
-
@MichaelW it looks larger.. notice the decks are farther from the wheel?
-
Welp. If this specs out as hoped I am definitely cancelling/selling my never-ending BB V2 pre-order.
-
@njcustom I am afraid I'm about 5 years too old to see the details in a black on black shadowed photo. I'm wearing my bifocals squinting my ass off and I got nothing! lol
-
@MichaelW hahahahahahhahahahahaaa .. I copied the photo and enhanced it
-
Rr1alvin 3 January 2017, 22:28 UTC
I have zero desire for a faster onewheel. MORE TORQUE would be AMAZING for steeper inclines. Especially for those of us adults that are upwards of 190lbs. Range, sure definitely add range. Now I'm just daydreaming.
-
Can't wait to find out more about it.
My wishlist:
-
Top-facing status indicator
Add an LED visible through the foot pad showing status, like that blue light around the switch on the side -
Configurable status indicator
An option to turn the power light off, maybe an RGB LED to change the color -
Build-in security system
Maybe a loud alarm that goes off if disturbed. Controlled via the app. This does also mean the board cannot be fully powered off when this option is enabled. -
Proximity-based foot sensor, instead of pressure switch
Could be like light sensors like on phones that detect your ear to the earpiece -
Lowered deck
I would love it if the deck was a bit lower, but I'm not sure how possible this is. The foot pads would have to be rounded -
Waterproof
I'm guessing this is not a trivial request. Properly waterproofing the motor may not be possible. -
Haptic feedback
A quick vibration could be useful, as when stepping on to indicate that the power is actually on so you can know that the board will catch you instead of slipping away. -
More hardpoints, accomodations for accessories
There are already 4 hardpoints on the top for the fender. I added stainless steel strips inside the frame to magnetically attach a fender, this would be nice if it was built-in. More points underneath might be useful to maybe add a splashguard or tire brush or a place to hold a bike chain.
Just ideas. If it has some of these I'll probably pick up another.
-
-
The tire looks farther away from the deck?
-
Kkbman 3 January 2017, 23:29 UTC
This post is deleted! -
@njcustom that is an interesting observation.
I could see two reasons to do that:
- Treaded tire. With OW v1, adding a treaded tire creates the hazard of debris getting caught between the deck and the tire. With an inch or so of space that should not be a real concern.
- Wider stance. A larger board with a wider stance could make the OW feel more like a snowboard.
I think the implications of that would be either:
- Smaller footpads. To keep the same control profile the footpads would have to be shorter. On my v1 I sometimes (albeit very rarely) touch the corner of the bumper to the flat ground. If I moved the footpads out an inch they would scrape all the time. They would have to be smaller.
- More responsive. The same tilt results in more impulse. I think the board would feel stiffer. This might mean less control in slow manuvering. I don't know this for sure, I'm just guessing.
-
Ok... Tomorrow we find out that V2 is awesome and we have to wait two months to get it! As of March 1st we should be rolling!

Impressive but not mind-blowing. At least its not more expensive :)
The Onewheel+ builds upon the original model that launched two years ago. The primary improvements are centered around ride comfort, as manufacturer Future Motion has redesigned the motor for a quieter and smoother ride. This new motor also allows the Onewheel+ to reach a top speed of 19 mph — 4 mph faster than the previous version.
Other improvements include better footpads with full sensor coverage, which should make the new board easier to ride. Within the app, riders will have finer control over how the Onewheel+ operates through customizable ride feel and performance settings.
The company says the changes came in response to how customers are using the board. “People are using Onewheel in all kinds of ways we never imagined,” Future Motion CEO Kyle Doerksen said.
The Onewheel+ should be able to handle terrain that the previous model could not. Also with additional customization options, new riders should have a less steep learning curve and advanced riders more control and versatility than they had before.
One area where Onewheel+ is not improving on is the price. The original Onewheel retailed for $1,500 at launch, and so will the new-and-improved model. The good news, however, is that the product is available immediately from the company’s website. Nice find @jim

Well, that settles it. I'm buying a OneWheel+
Just a pity that in the Netherlands it costs significantly more that in the USA :( -
Nice. I guess for V1 owners, they should be able to drop in the newer motor.
-
Just ordered mine

Forget dropping in the newer motor.
Ain't no better time to order a second OW.
Awesome job FM. -
Eengelyve 4 January 2017, 14:15 UTC
Disappointed concerning the range, no improvement there. Staying with my v1 for now, not really convinced. Motor and footpads should fit the v1 as an upgrade, otherwise it would be a shame for such an expensive board to get outdated by a "facelift". Ok, speed is cool, but not worth the price of a whole board and the shaping is just software. Would have wished more range, already got 20km out of mine with lights out. Sorry, no new customer here...
-
WWaterloo1wheeler @engelyve 4 January 2017, 14:18 UTC
@engelyve so true, was looking for longer range as well. Looks like just new footpads for me.
-
This is actually good news. I look at this as an Apple "S" model. For those of us that purchased our OW within the last couple of months, we are already used to riding what we have and are pushing it past its limits. I'm ok with my V1, and will be passing on the V1.5, eagerly awaiting a V2. I will however, attempt to ride the "+" ASAP, so I can feel what I'm missing!
-
"Well, it didn't meet my hopes...no increased range, no new tire option, no replaceable batt- ah, screw it, order placed."
-
In all fairness, it's an improved version offered for the same price.
And the V1 is being offered for $200 less.
Sounds reasonable to me. -
Eengelyve 4 January 2017, 14:44 UTC
Should have made a set of upgrades fitting v1 for customer fidelisation and a complete for those who haven't got one. That would have been the smart move, including MORE RANGE...
-
Ordered.
Given folks are getting 20mph+ from 15mph rating, I suspect 19mph is going to be pretty epic. Would love more range, but will continue to use coffee shops as the Onewheel supercharger network.
-
Bbdech15 4 January 2017, 15:05 UTC
Can someone confirm that the new footpads will fit the V1 board?
-
Tthomasharrick 4 January 2017, 15:11 UTC
Hey Future Motion,
I own a Onewheel that is now being sold for $1299. After spending $1500 on a Onewheel, do you really think we're gonna spend another $1500 on a new one? -
CChristofire 4 January 2017, 15:14 UTC
I see this as an opportunity. As fun as riding by yourself is, it will be nice to be able to invite a friend along for the journey now. And even though they didn't come correct with a removable battery on the +, now I'll have another fully charged battery on deck in my OG onewheel 😂
My birthday is Feb 2nd too. I'll justify this purchase any way I can lol
-
Bbgood 4 January 2017, 15:17 UTC
autonomy?
-
This is my take on it.... The average range of esk8s is now around 10-12 miles. For me, I commute to work every day on my onewheel and these days the cold weather drags my battery down to 3mi a charge. I want to be able to commute to work on the coldest days and be able to ride with the other esk8ers in my community without bailing due to range.
I'll probably pass on this upgrade and look elsewhere for my 2nd board (evolve gt or Mellow). Hopefully FM will see the need for a swappable battery in the next year or so as more companies roll out great boards with high ranges. -
Ordered it, only because the final price of nearly 2k is just not worth it to me, so I might as well get in on the 25% off now. It's disappointing they didn't address the range...but in theory, wouldn't a more powerful motor increase the range at low to medium speeds? anyway, in the end, they fixed my 3 major complaints about the OW, torque, footpad design, and sensor design, looking forward to starting over with some crazy mods on a fresh board

What is the mafia bag anyways?
-
T
I just realized how the breakdown of the sale was going. Now that makes more sense.
-
L
Yeah, it's a bit pricey considering the changes but I suppose I'll have to reserve judgement till I see some reviews/comparisons :P I've been riding mine for only about a month so far but its been winter here so its been working wonderfully in the snow/slush - we'll see how long the board lasts though!
-
E
@faskev the old ones are only sold out, that's only proof for the needed upgrade, not saying discontinued, no offense mate. Could be, looks like the old rails to me...
-
So why cant I trade my V1 in towards the cost of a V2?
I feel a bit ripped off, I havent even owned mine for a full year and paid 1.6k for it... then this comes out and im left behind?
I really wish they would take my V1 and give me a V2 for like 300ish extra bucks on top.
-
J
No increased range means no pre-order for me although I am very interested in the new motor and the supposed increase in "smoothness." If that mean less pushback than that could be a real improvement. I won't be buying a + for a while though. Also I assume the new footpads will be usable on the current gen so that will be a nice upgrade for my board. If only we could swap batteries as would take care of the range problem.
-
L
@Seekwence Ultimately because that would be a flawed business model - the money spent into development of whatever is new for this board plus general production cost, they would lose quite a bit of money if they allowed that.
Sucks, yeah - I've had my board for about a month but if I was really concerned about the possibility of a new board being announced within the year, then I would have waited. It's not a huge step up I think, so the current version is still great.
If you're always concerned about being left behind, then the technology world must be a scary place :)
-
Youre right, but damn this really blows for me personally. As an investor I feel they should have considered upgrading replaceable parts for all models.
Maybe just pay for an upgrade fee, not a entirely new unit.
-
M
@Seekwence You think you have it bad? At least you get access to a 25% discount on early sales.. In the rest of the world we don't get ANY discounts.. so this wonderful newsletter deal that was sent to me here in the Netherlands is a wonderful middle finger to my wallet...
If the retail price of the OW+ is going to be higher here than the normal OW, i'm not going to buy..
It would just be ridiculous..
Future Motion: why can't we get the same deals here!!
We would buy! -
Just made a purchase :)
-
@njcustom no brainer for me too. Done!
@Miro_NL_AMS i think there's a lot of misunderstanding with the price and perceived discount. The final price for all is $1499, you just get a bunch of perks if you order early (ext warranty etc).
-
K
@njcustom excited for your vids! I have no use for a second board but I hope they have a upgrade option. If not being able to upgrade the motor at the very least hopefully new footpads and new software.
-
@jordo
I think so too.
You're basically getting free fender, extra bumpers and 2 year warranty instead of 1. -
M
@jordo Guess what the retail price is here for a normal OW...
1700 EURO
Which is 1781 USD.
No discounts, christmas sales, thanksgiving black friday deals, etc etc.. full price, all the time..
Next to that, we get no access to any perks.. -
@Seekwence what really blows is if you didn't have an OW at all! Go ride and smile...and be thankful! Don't let shiny new stuff ruin your day.

So I'm stewing a little right now. We early adapters are one of the main reasons this board is so popular. We are the free advertising FM has benefited from this past year. I sent them an email inquiring if there might be any consideration for purchasers of V1. I'm not expecting much. I would consider buying V2 for $1500 if I could get a reasonable price on the sale of my V1. Anyone else feel like I do?
-
@medhead
FM has always been top notch with customer service.
I wouldn't be surprised if they offer some type of an incentive for those who bought a V1 not long ago and wanting a V2.
V2 is on my list come Spring and keeping V1 as a back up. -
Yup. Went ahead and ordered one too. I'm a sucker! lol. :-P

Any idea what this "mafia onewheel bag" is?

Just placed my order after reading their email. Seems like there is some confusion on the pricing. The news story linked to this morning said the price was going to remain around $1500 but then there is this chatter about $1984 here.
The boards will continue to be sold for $1549 after these pricing specials but the early you order the more free stuff you get. Order in the next 48 hours to get $1984 in value with free shipping, fender, bumpers, extra warranty. Order by the 9th for $1499 and get $1712 in value...basically the same package minus the extra year in warranty. Order by the 31st for $1499 and get $50 off the normal retail price of $1549 which includes free shipping. Starting in Feb retail price will be $1549 and you will still get free shipping but you will need to buy everything else including a fender which I think everyone should own.
I was thinking of waiting until towards summer since I don't ride much in winter but the free shipping, fender, and bumpers, and extra year of warranty is a good deal.
Just got to pull the trigger and look forward to the increased performance on the way! I'm guessing production on these is not too different than V1 so as long as they get all the components on time there should not be delays.
-
TT-CAT 4 January 2017, 17:13 UTC
Awe, I gotcha. That makes more sense. They factored in the value of the "Freebies" to the said retail price. The price of the new board looks to be at $1549 after the pre-sales, but the longer you wait to order the less freebies you get and therefore the less value.
Here's the link with the break-down.
-
TT-CAT 4 January 2017, 17:30 UTC
Out of curiosity, why does the rear footpad have a portion of the wood showing? Was there a reason to not fill all the space with the grip tape?
-
Lltl @Miro_NL_AMS 4 January 2017, 17:37 UTC
@Miro_NL_AMS I also live in the Netherlands. We will have to wait untill a shop imports them. Importing just one will put you above. 2.000 euro with taxes and shipping. As soon as the onewheel+ is available in Europe I will order one or two and sell my used v1 for a fair price. I know of good shops in belgium, in the Netherlands , austria, Finland or uk. So who is is going to be the first, reply from shops are welcome? I will order two new onewheel+ if the price remains at 1.700.
-
@njcustom It appears your custom fender will still work which is awesome! Mine has taken some abuse and still works great!
-

-
BBallewBoard 4 January 2017, 17:54 UTC
"Boom!" Just bought the new OneWheel+ after my buddy confirmed he's going to buy my "old" OW. I CANNOT WAIT!!!!
-
WWaterloo1wheeler @BallewBoard 4 January 2017, 17:57 UTC
@BallewBoard nice how much are you selling your old one for? I might do the same.
-
Ffaskev @Waterloo1wheeler 4 January 2017, 17:57 UTC
@Waterloo1wheeler ya, us Canadians are looking at $2500 CAD once it hits our doorstep. I can't justify the minor upgrade seeing as if we are able to sell off our v1's we will probably only get $1000 CAD at the most.
-
Though some disagree, I think the added speed and smoother motor is well worth the purchase. I purchased a V1 back in April knowing that technology is rapidly advancing and that the board I just bought may already have a new model coming out...I keep that mentality with everything I buy so that I am not disappointed when something new comes out. I am actually surprised that this didn't come out earlier. I view this as a more refined version of the V1, and in my opinion it's worth the money. Not only that but I just sold my V1 at a very low price to a good friend of mine so that I have someone to hit the trails with. It's a win-win.
-
What I want to know is who the @Hoverhooligans are and how I can ride with them.
-
@Waterloo1wheeler I've been looking on ebay and mercari the past few days and I've seen them selling used between $800-$1050 based on condition --- The one that sold for $1150 just had the refresh package done, so new tire, pads and a tune up. Find a friend and give them a good deal, spread the stoke.
-
WWaterloo1wheeler @faskev 4 January 2017, 18:05 UTC
@faskev yeah! I'd almost rather Keep my old board than sell it for $1000. Back up board/for someone to ride with you!! I saw there's a dealer in Toronto but not sure if it made a difference on the final price.
-
WWaterloo1wheeler @iSurfVilano 4 January 2017, 18:07 UTC
@iSurfVilano I guess getting money and someone to ride with is the best outcome lol
-
@iSurfVilano I totally agree. One of the biggest draws of the OneWheel is how it feels to ride it, and it sounds like they've made big improvements to the feel, to the power, to the shaping modes available, and to the speed.
And an additional 4mph might not sound like much, but that's nearly another third as fast as it was before!
-
Ddakota4ce 4 January 2017, 18:16 UTC
Lots of bellyaching here about FM launching a new product (rather eloquently I might add) and about living in other countries. Kind of entertaining!
For those that feel slighted after just buying a V1, it's not that much better! Your V1 still kicks ass and is super fun--turn that frown upside down!
-
@dakota4ce I agree. If everyone would wait for the next best thing they would lose out on a lot of fun.
-
I think the range of the Onewheel is restricted due to the fact that the wheel must be powered at all times, since it's self-leveling. It can't be compared to other electric skateboards that can coast and don't need battery power to stay level... four wheels does that automatically.
They already use the best batteries available in the OW, so we likely won't see better range until some scientist invents a better battery (or perfect the graphene film battery). I think our best bet is going to be swappable battery packs.
-
@thegreck I think the issue with swappable batteries is it's a removable item...The onewheel is not a road only board and with the bump and grind of trail use I see future issues with removable items (unless screwed in along with a rubber seal around it, which means you have to carry a screwdriver with you) --- I hope that in the future they get to that point though.
-
@iSurfVilano Good point! Guess for now we'll just have to stick to the solution of riding from Starbucks to Starbucks, or keeping a battery backup in our backpacks when there aren't any Starbucks around.

Has there been any co firmation if the new footpads will fit on V1's? Somebody from Onewheel please answer asap,,,,,thanks

@r1alvin I can almost guarantee they will; I don't think they redesigned the main body of the board. And the regular footpads have been out of stock in the store for a while, so I'm pretty sure these will replace them.
-

So so mad.... the look on my sons face when he found out the new one wheel came out just a week after he received one for Christmas.....
Very upset with future motion for not giving me the option to wait.... I will be writing a nasty letter to anyone with power! Corporate executives should know how they disappointed my 13 year old son....
DISAPPOINTED is an UNDERSTATEMENT!
-
Why don't you use this opportunity to teach your 13-year-old son a valuable life lesson? You just bought him a $1500 machine that he will get years of joy and life out of, don't teach him to be a crybaby always looking for the next best thing! The onewheel you bought him is fucking awesome. Tell him to get out there and enjoy it, I promise he will. If not you're going to have to have the same conversation with him in three years when you buy him a Camaro and he wants a Porsche.
-
@thegreck
Agreed, and hope they continue to offer the older ones.
Some people may prefer the flat ones. -

"Spoke to a rep at FM. Here's the deal.
-
if you've purchased your board in the last ~ 10 days they will work with you for a solution. (Ie if your board is brand new, they will accept a return)
-
for all the owners of version 1 like me, the new pads apparently won't fit on the old board and they don't offer any swap/upgrade option. The rep told me they would work on a longer term solution for us original owners, but it will take a few months for sure. Maybe a software upgrade.
Cheers!"
-
-
@CapoDelToro Pads, as in footpads? So the cool new footpads aren't going to retrofit onto the old boards, huh? Little disappointing.
But how is a software upgrade going to fix a hardware incompatibility? A new shaping option that'll make it "feel" like you have curved footpads?
-
LLarklen @thegreck 4 January 2017, 22:46 UTC
@thegreck I think the Software upgrade may have been intended to be a new line item - they mentioned on how the V2 will have more control in terms of software, so that may be what that part is referring to?
Definitely made me re-read the sentence though, software comment immediately following a note regarding how footpads won't match.
-
@carefreefamily If my dad had bought me a gift that cost $1,500 when I was 13 years old and I showed disappointment because something better was available, I would suddenly have NO gift.
-
I am glad they kept the color blue, turning it black would take away from the limited edition ones that people like myself spent more on from there Kickstarter event. I just purchased the Onewheel+ and honestly I don't see selling my black limited edition one just because it is special to me and I consider it a limited edition one.

Cant wait to see what they come up with. Most of us are willing to pay too. We need to just keep talking about it so they see the demand! I hate to have to explain my 13 year old sons Christmas gift but there is more to the story....
He saved his money since he was 8 years old ... when he turned 13 he begged us to let him use his own money to buy a one wheel ... we said no and talked him into buying an apple computer... that was February....
Fast forward to cyber Monday.... we have 3 sons and they are each given a $500 Christmas limit.... All three thought the one wheel was the shit so they decided to pool their money and each own $500 of the one wheel.... we purchased this one gift for our three boys....
We are not a wealthy family and it was a huge special that we ever concidered such an toy for our boys....
We have one 10 year old vehicle with over 200,000 miles.... this purchase is special to our family and I should not be made to feel like my child is a spoiled brat....
I hate social media for this very reason....
I feel the company should have made us aware that a new model was to be released.... End of Story

The 25% "savings" are the "value" of the extras you get for ordering immediately. Extended warranty, badge, a discount if you buy a bag, fender, and a (presumably extra) set of fenders, free shipping, contest entry. It doesn't look like the price of the OneWheel+ is going to increase over $1499 in the future. -

What would be a longer term solution than making everything backward compatible. Big fail for me and I LOVE MY V1!!!!!!!!!! A facelift, some shaping and a bit more speed. I'll wait for the next generation.

That's a real bummer! I was thinking of buying new pads, but the original ones are not available and the new pretty cool looking ones are not compatible!
-
Ffaskev @Polle 5 January 2017, 15:57 UTC
@Polle Future Motion has been responding to comments on Facebook and one of their replies was worded "the Surestance footpads are not currently compatible with the original board." I won't hold my breath but sounds like it could be a possibility for them to make them work on the v1.
-
I'm curious to know why they didn't cover the rear footpad in grip tape. It's angled on the edge closest to the tire, and angled such that it appears it'll work better for those riding regular foot, and not so much for those like me who ride goofy. Maybe this newer more powerful beast required a wider stance? On the original onewheel I'm able to ride faster and avoid nosedives by keeping my back foot closer to the tire, so wondering how it'll work out on the onewheel +. Not really a big deal as adding some extra grip tape is easy enough, just scratching my head wondering why. But I ordered one, perhaps the mystery will clear itself up once I get a chance to play with it.
-
They would never make the footpads avalable at this point because it would keep people from buying the new one. The reason they are giving a time limit and free shit is that they are trying to get as many of us to pull the trigger as possible. Its not wrong its just the marketing strategy. At some point many of these smart tech guys on this forum will likely figure out a way to make the new pads work on V1. Till then I'm still thinking this is the best toy I've ever owned as an adult. I'll likely get the OneWheel plus down the road.

@groovyruvy maybe its simply a fancy look they were striving for....but I wondered the same!

Ffaskev 5 January 2017, 20:22 UTC
No longer supplying replacement footboards for the v1 would kill a lot of their customer base and at present they are out of stock. V1's running around are still going to generate interest and hype for sales of the new board so letting the old ones die off with no replacement parts isn't the way to increase business. Nobody is going to drop another $1500 USD to buy the new board just because they need new footboards for their old one. I'd guess they are improving upon the current ones to rectify some of the sensor issues and could possibly be similar to the v2 pads. Yes they aren't going to release retrofit v2 footpads when they are trying to build hype about them being a new feature on their new board but they have to release replacement v1 pads at some point whether they are the same or a new design.
-
After reading all this I'm just glad I picked up a couple pair of footpads for the original onewheel, which I did out of an abundance of caution after hearing about all the issues with the sensors.
-
@groovyruvy I wish I had your forethought back when they were in stock, haven't touched my OW in almost a week because one of the sensors went out
-
@faskev let's hope!
-
@groovyruvy I'm sure those extra sets of foot pads you have could be worth a premium now they are out of stock!! I'm glad I thought the same as you and have a new pair sitting here waiting to go on if and when my old ones need replacing.. I'm thinking of turning my old pads into footpads similar to the V2 ones
-
I am selling a new set of footpads for $500. I will include a pocket knife. In 24 hours they will be $550 and not come with a pocket knife. PM me quickly as supplies are limited.
-
@MichaelW that's some black market pricing bro :)
-
@MichaelW I have a set of footpads for anyone in Europe.. I'm only asking £200!
-
Ffaskev 5 January 2017, 23:28 UTC
Lol, let the gouging begin!
-
Ddakota4ce 5 January 2017, 23:48 UTC
This sounds fun! Its winter here, I will sell my footpads off of my current V1 to the highest bidder!
-
I am not to be blamed for my creative marketing team. Supply and demand people! Supply and demand!! V1 pads NOS still in the box! Time is running out!! #Disposable Income #vintageskater #overforty #V1+

TT-CAT 6 January 2017, 03:50 UTC
I just ordered one. I figured I minds well get it while obtaining all the added benefits of value for the same price.
When ordering, it just states I received the Pioneer Edition, but it doesn't state what kind, as this one I ordered would technically be the "Founding Member". I wonder how Future Motion plans to keep track of what Pioneer package people purchase and what added items in that value list is provided if it doesn't state on the order which one was ordered. Maybe they'll just go by the date ordered, but that doesnt seem like the easiest way to organize that, and it's better to state exactly what the order is and what it comes with on the purchase receipt.
-
Ddalisdair @MichaelW 6 January 2017, 04:33 UTC
@MichaelW
Can you include a 25% discount off something else that I won't be buying? I'd like to save some money.
-
@dalisdair LOL! Yes... I'll do 25% because my markup is 500% also because I am a good person.
-
Ggolfer17 6 January 2017, 05:58 UTC
With the new footpads not being compatible with the V1 and the original footpads being sold out, what happens if I buy the tune up + reload pack that is supposed to come with new footpads? Do they just do everything but swap out the footpads or are they not offering that service at all now?
-
@T-CAT when you order, a sales order is put together including all the items that need to ship which will be used for order fulfillment.
-
TT-CAT 6 January 2017, 06:04 UTC
That's good to know. Thanks Franky
-
I've also got a new spare set of v1 footpads. I'll sell them for the LOW PRICE of $499 WITH FREE SHIPPING! But that's not all, order within the next hour and it will ship within two days rather than the normal four weeks! ORDER NOW!

Aahxe45 6 January 2017, 15:06 UTC
@carefreefamily If I got a 1500 dollar present at 13 years old and then bitched because I didn't get the newest and most up to date model and had a little cry fest I would be eating that present and probably sleeping outside for a few weeks. Come on man the V1 is literally one of the coolest presents you could ever get for a teenager. Not many can say they have one. It's called life shit happens get over it. All these D-Bags coming on the forums crying that FM should have consulted them personally before they dared to release an updated model need to rethink their priorities because I think there is more wrong.
-
HHazeey 6 January 2017, 15:32 UTC
My dilemma is, do I open my v1 I'm about to pickup at ups or wait to see about return and order the + to wait longer and hope it comes in February? Any thoughts from longtime owners of the OG? Footpath sound hit or miss on the v1 which is my only real concern....and the power of the new motor sounds sweet since I'm not bigger guy (230lbs)
-
Eengelyve @ahxe45 6 January 2017, 15:39 UTC
@ahxe45
Read everything or leave that guy alone. It was 1 onewheel for three kids and it's obvious that they are a bit sad, cause for them it's even more hard earned money than for us. Plus, the elder one already had the money a year ago but was talked into a more intelligent investment by his parents, who now feel a bit guilty too. -
Eengelyve 6 January 2017, 15:48 UTC
And claiming it's a ferrari instead of a gti and making the same move as volkswagen: facelift, few more horsepower like every new model. I can't hear it anymore, the commercial is almost the same as the first one, only kyle has come a long way. Built like a tank and some time after, you get left behind. We'll see what the future will bring. And goodies are no discount, get that confusing marketing right. It's not a discount for someone who doesn't want that bag or a silver or gold membership of what... we already felt so special. Signed: stoked v1 owner and still will be
-
Aahxe45 6 January 2017, 18:38 UTC
@engelyve I read every comment and to be honest I really don't care. you guys need to go somewhere else and cry. You think it was easy for me to put up 1500 in this past summer? No I don't think so. Now it is worth less because they came out with a new model.... Just like my car..... Just like my phone...... Just like my TV..... Just like my PS4...... Just like everything else that is technology oriented is obsolete in months and sometimes weeks after purchase.....
-
Aahxe45 6 January 2017, 18:44 UTC
@engelyve also if you call being given $500 dollars at thirteen hard earned money I don't know an easier way to get money.............................................................................................................................................................
-
Eengelyve @ahxe45 6 January 2017, 19:46 UTC
@ahxe45 just doesn't happen with ferrari's... and if it really raises to almost 2000$, ours keep our value. ;) just sayin, overhyped for 3mph more, suppose you've got the mail too... i think these children know what their money's worth, just like we do. I'll keep enjoying my v1, maybe one day a v2 or v3, who knows... cheers mate
-
Aahxe45 6 January 2017, 19:51 UTC
@engelyve not trying to be a d**k either just getting annoyed with everyone on here posting the same complaint that they are upset that FM didn't tell them they were releasing a new model when they bought their board anywhere from a year ago to a day ago and I get it somewhat but I don't see where people think FM owes them anything because they bought a board from them. I have purchased and sold 4 boards and did not bat an eye when I saw the release. And trust me I don't have a huge disposable income either.
-
@ahxe45 AMEN!!!!
-
@Hazeey ok. Your situation is different. If it's unopened, and likely you've never ridden it or a Onewheel in general, you technically don't know what you're missing. I would return that and get the plus. What's another couple weeks to wait? For those of us who have been riding, we are not eligible so we might as well deal.
-
@CapoDelToro Shipping now estimated at March, no longer Feb.

Huh, so it is. Hopefully that's just for new pre-orders based on the demand. I'm already dying inside waiting for Feb -_-

Bboomlrd 9 January 2017, 14:59 UTC
Ok I pulled the trigger today and got in on the Gold deal. I am a bit bummed spending the money, I bought my OW at full retail right before Black Friday sale, ugh. Anyway I will sell the old one when the new one arrives in March, once again paying full retail. Oh well, it hurts to see the old one probably sell at a major loss for me, but I do like the added benefits of the newer one, plus I can finally have a fender (which should be included anyway at that price). I use my OW a lot, got 160 miles on it and had it since November. My wife was not thrilled with me buying yet another expensive "toy", but ce la vie. I do love the OW, and hopefully the market for used V1 Onewheels does not get too saturated and I can get something decent for my old one. Tampabay area peeps give me a shout if interested in purchasing the V1. Thanks!
-
@boomlrd if it's any consolation. Only thing better than riding, is riding with someone else.
-
@shaunabe True. That's what I decided to do.
-
Ccarefreefamily @engelyve 10 January 2017, 17:00 UTC
@engelyve appreciate the fact you actually read my response and understood my concerns.... Still trying to get ahold of one wheel to see what they say... 15 messages and several emails with no reply.... my annoyance with one wheel is only getting bigger as they continue to ignore my calls.... never dull....
-
Ccarefreefamily @ahxe45 10 January 2017, 17:03 UTC
@ahxe45 buying yours last summer is a little different than receiving the one wheel 5 days before the announced new one...
-
Kkelp @carefreefamily 10 January 2017, 17:06 UTC
@carefreefamily ces is happening, they are probably getting thousands of emails a day. just bear with it if you can. its not their fault. its not your fault. just a frustrating time to get support for sure
-
Aahxe45 10 January 2017, 21:24 UTC
@carefreefamily my most recent purchase was less than a month ago and I sold one a week before the announcement. Currently I have 2 boards that are worth less now than a week ago but that's the way technology is. The V1 is literally the same exact board and for all we know could still be better. For all we know the + could have tons of unforeseen problems that won't be exposed until they are in the consumers hands. I think your kids will completely forget about all of their sorrows once they set foot on the onewheel and see just how awesome it really is.
-
V1 still maintaining value at $900+ respectively.
My guess it'll hover around 800-1000 even after OW+ is out and about.
OW+ used will be around 1200+.
Hope they keep the V1 in production. -
@ZeeMox
Dude, I was just thinking the same thing... I really hope this thing comes next month since I purchased within the first 48 hours when the site said "February". Some confirmation on this would be nice.
-
Ssmolloy 21 January 2017, 02:43 UTC
Same here, pre-ordered in first 48 hours expecting it to ship in Feb, now site says April! It would really be nice if someone could officially clarify!
-
Bbraswell @smolloy 21 January 2017, 02:49 UTC
@smolloy you still will get your shipment in feb.
Idk why this is so confusing to people...
This is just like when Apple releases a new phone preorders start "ships on x date" then demand grows and starts pushing back the ship date "ships 3-4 weeks" demand grows "ships 5-6 weeks" eventually it goes back down to "ships in 24hrs"
For all new orders placed today it will ship April.
-
Shit,. Apple released a new phone.... how did i not hear about this
-
@braswell I know, it's weird. If they kept the shipping date the same on the website, what happens a few months from now when people order? Will they be complaining that their Onewheel didn't already magically ship a few in the past like the site says?
"What's up, Future Motion?? I ordered my board in April and your site says it was supposed to ship back in February! This is BS!"

They have emailed me every time I email FM. It usually takes a couple days for them. As far as shipping they have clarified to me since I ordered first day it would ship end of February. And like others have said on this thread the earlier you bought the closer to end of February yours will ship. Today's orders prob won't ship til end of April or may unless they catch up with demand earlier.
