@Rado I personally love the reduced pushback. I usually ride my v1 close to limit and my knee was suffering from fighting the pushback constantly.

@snwbrdwndsrf I have a V1 and I feel the same way. Knee is always sore, and the thigh of my front leg always starts burning after fighting pushback for too long. I think I need a +, once they get caught up on orders. And I find the cash. I'm not getting rid of my V1, no way.

@snwbrdwndsrf I kinda like it aswell, me being younger and also a wakesurfer, snowboarder, skateboarder probably means my knees won't suffer from a lot of pushback, I like it so I can get higher speeds easier.

@OffRoadOW I snowboard and windsurf (though not so much the last few years with the onset of children), but it still bothered me. Probably age. So you feel like the pushback lets you get higher speeds more easily?

@thegreck the pushback on v1 has been reduced with the new app - have you tried that?

@Rado I'm noticing the reduced pushback the last couple of days, the board teetering forward and speeding up. I usually ride between 13 to 15 mph but lately I have been going over that with a higher than 15 mph hum and I backed it up with the app a couple times.

Weird that some people's boards are slower, since the new app myne accelerates slower but the pushback is way less and I can get pretty good speeds. 7 people have the speed of 22.00 maybe that was what FM decided would be the cutoff so people wouldent try and get higher speeds so no one would hurt themselves. Maybe send an email to fm support or something and see what's up.

I think this would be wise for FM...if they create a highspeed highscore board it will cause people to act stupid.... and in the end hurt the reputation of the OW as a solid safe product.. ;)

@timvdp then why have a leaderboard at all? Pretty soon it'll just be a bunch of people tied for 1st at 22.24 mph.

I've had the same problem actually talked to onewheel the app engineer put in a algorithm on the leaderboard saying that the ow v1 can't go more that 22mph my top speed is 26 but I'm not on there at all

Ummm... hasn't that been debunked as an urban legend?

@Earthpilot I guess it depends on what you like. I prefer more pushback which gave me more torque and allowed for a higher top speed.

The leaderboard appears to reject any speed over about 24mph. I just did some trials and found that at about 23.6mph top speed I would rank, but 24.4mph booted me off.

My current top speed is 26.4mph. I could easily go faster, but there's just no point.

@snwbrdwndsrf totally I mean I have more confidence going higher speeds on grass or dirt because I don't get as hurt on that I normally off-road or go on dirt paths so I can hit top speeds a lot easier with light trying to fight pushback and worry for bumps in the path, now I can just worry about bumps, the reduced pushback just makes it easier to go over 15 withought realizing and at the end of your run you get a message that says new top speed: 24 mph, I kinda like it but it makes me more careless and result I've been stoped by park rangers 2 times since it started and asked to slow down...

@Rado Oh, don't get me wrong, I like pushback as well. It's really good for when you are hitting elevated cracks in the side walk and the motor disengages for a second at 15 mph+. I'd rather be slightly nose high at that moment as I have been and not drive the nose into the ground with catastrophic results.

@Earthpilot Yeah, that always helps. Nosediving is not fun. Lately, because of the reduced torque in the new 2.0 shaping I've nosedived a few times when starting from a stop. I'm so used to the previous acceleration curve that I always want to push it hard when I start off and end up slamming the nose into the ground. Same with stopping. I'll be riding hard on the sidewalk and see some crazy tree root or something and slam hard on the breaks and I end up grinding the tail on the ground. Been thrown off a lot lately. Always wear a helmet.

@Rado They need to fix this pushback/torque issue. I created a thread about it a few minutes ago because i almost dumped 4 or 5 times today.

Sounds like you guys got "upgraded" to firmware from last year which added push back at 13mph and reduced the torque. Sucks..3040 sucks, no going back..

@parrothd Yeah, I'm wondering if a lot of these complaints are due to V1 boards getting upgraded to the current firmware (actually, version 3056). It's what mine was shipped with so I've known nothing else.

If I have behavioral change with the new app, I'll be sure to take note.

@bmtka Mine came installed with 3056. Does anyone know how the digital shaping for the plus works on the app? Does it look just like the V1? Maybe we are getting the shaping for the plus somehow. Since it has a bigger motor maybe that explains the weak acceleration and breaking on the V1 if the Extreme shaping was meant for the plus.

Just got a response from FM about this issue:

Good news! It sounds like our app engineers are aware of the issue and expect to have a solution early next week. If you experience issues late next week please let me know and I'll pass along your feedback.

@trappar which issue are they referring to, the leaderboard problems or the performance of the V1 since the update? I've been in contact with them about the slow acceleration, weak breaking and zero pushback since the app update and was told to send my board in for inspection.

Aha! So they are blocking top speeds. My app won't display my top speed anymore (on the leaderboard page). The mileage is also incorrect. Hope they fix it soon. Pretty much defeats the purpose of having a leaderboard.
