@sidebox that wouldn't be consistent with V1 where the pushback kicks in at 80% of top speed. Pushback kicking in at 15mph on the plus would be consistent with the V1.
-
@sidebox I wouldn't worry too much, the pushback is pretty minimal until you push past 18 miles an hour.
-

I thought max speed would be 19mph(allready awesome) so pushback would be at a lower speed......probably 17mph...and now we learn FM gave us 5mph extra...weird...but nice :)
don't push beyond the limits of any machine...especially a 1 wheeled one....or at least keep it off road for that...for yourself ;)
-
Only you can stop being a jackass, @Aaron-Broward-FL. -
!!!TROLL!!!
You wanna go fast without hurting yourself?
Watch my Vid :) ----> https://youtu.be/baOnPgf8cbc -
@tonyrumans pushback does drop off a bit when carving, totally agree.
-
And, after clearly laying out my case in the most logically way possible, if you guys just repeat "name calling" and "policing' I'm going to assume... Hmm Millenials or Just immature kids. Who don't have the capacity to understand what your reading.
I'm going back to playing in the threads with the adults.
@tonyrumans you are missing the whole point of the thread... I don't give a crap if everyone wants to ride fast... What I care about is, the thread like this one, and others. Cause new people, to think, pushing through the pushback, is the Normal way to ride.. and doing that will cause you to faceplant. I had this exact conversation with someone in a private chat and had to explain to them no no, don't do that. Learn to ride the board first, listen to the pushback ect ect.As it relates to the stupid high speeds, i have never believed them.
And as I am not a modertor, nor is the forum moderated who is policing you? Why are you millenials so afraid of words... Do you need a safe space here like they do in the colleges now too? Like you can go fast and aren't worried about breaking your bones, but some middled aged fat jackass Calls you a name and you freak out? I don't get it. Grow some hair on your balls and move on.
And Since I have had to go to the hospital and I'm still in pain from the last time my bored failed. (And didn't turn on after, so I'm going to call that one mechanical failure, sent it back they said it was a component in the battery compartment they replaced) My freaking shoulder has been killing me for 8 weeks, but It failed from going to fast previously could have been the same injury. I will For the last time here, but, will continually mention that pushback is there for a reason at least not he V1. I know not of the 2. Engine failure is real. It has nothing to do with my coordination.

I am not really sure what you dumbasses are trying to do... and I'm just going to continue to call you dumbasses... don't push through the pushback... Or you will end up face planting.
I have hurt myself semi seriously twice doing this.. If you push through the pushback onthe V1 you will hit engine failure and it will simply Die, causing the board to die and causing your o keep moving forward, sounds like on this version they fixed that and started a slow down verses a shutdown.. Thanks :) guys, hospital bills will go down!...
But, the pushback is there for a reason, your reaching the limits of the motors.... its not because your mom doesn't want you to not go faster than that...
Don't be a dumbass, Respect the board...
Some people get a thrill from pushing the limits. If I didn't do anything where there's a chance of going to the hospital, my life would be very boring.
@CBR-954rr hence why you also ride a CBR (assuming) Use the CBR for speed by what im hearing about the plus im not gonna be trying to go over 19, I get enough thrill from 20+ mph Ive gotten hurt going fast on pavement, gravel reduces injury severity and for me it gives me more confidence... If you have a CBR 1000rr you could be going 190 according to google, a GSX is better though. Or an R1 (Yamaha YZF-R1, 1000cc) Stick to bikes for speed V1 Is good for speed from what ive rean the plus isnt...

Still not exactly on topic with this thread but I have been asking for months for someone to post a legitimate video of them going over the 23MPH mark that I have hit on the V1 and I still have not seen one yet either. I don't recall who it was I was talking with but I offered to ship a case of beer if they could show me a confirmed video of them going 25+MPH on flat ground and then they disappeared. Offer still stands to anyone that can do it on the V1.

@ahxe45
Okay
For the next ride😉👍
it is not easy to film when it runs
but the photos do not mind -

@tony-at-83 are you on a plus or a v1? and if you can get a video that clearly shows beyond a doubt that you are going 27MPH I will eat my words and ship you a case of beer. Trust me I want to be proven wrong but I have said it before that I don't see how it is possible to hit a speed like 27MPH. I am 24 years old and am in relatively good shape. I surf, skate, snowboard, wakeboard etc and have for my whole life so my balance is very good I would say but the most I can do on my board is 23 MPH and I thought I was about to die. I have tried pushing past that and I don't think it is possible. My board just shuts down. My speeds were verified with a radar as well.

Passa a italiano
Hello
I'm 33 years, I'm an Italian living in France in le Havre.
I bought the OW v1 for seven day and practical kitesurfing few years.
as I said before it is not easy to shoot when I drive and I have no radar.
the photos are captures the screen of my iPhone 6+.
no makeup, and as soon as I get back from the fall I try again the record😉
no doubt -
Ttimvdp 13 April 2017, 22:17 UTC
Cool!...It's only a matter of time before people will hit the 35mph mark or maybe even unlock the 45mph "dellirium" level!:):)....
please keep trying guys!! and share vids!;);) -
Thank you so much
for the moment I heal wounds

then try again 😉👍 -

Looking more and more like FM wants to limit the OW+ to 23.25 MPH!
-
Ttrappar 15 April 2017, 17:13 UTC
Yeahhhh... and they are doing it in a really stupid way. I got mine yesterday and gave it a try. I now see what other people are talking about with the pushback profiling. The faster you go the more it leans you back, which makes you increasingly unstable at higher speeds because you're compensating for a more awkward stance. It also means you can't slow down as quickly since the tail of the board is closer to the ground.
I tried a couple times to get above 23, and every time I got crazy speed wobbles due to the super awkward body position.
-
I found I can go faster on gravel, probably because it gives me more confidence... Ive fallen at 17+ on asphalt and 2 months later I still have a big ol scrape and ive fallen probably 20+ on gravel and gotten a few bumps and bruises but i feel like gravel helps me go faster and stay stable.. It also helps when your tring to race somebody on a golfcart...

Anybody else encounter this where I hit 22.7 mph and I am not showing on the leaderboard? I have been trying to get past 23mph since the conversation the other day on this thread. Still havent done it/ don't think I will but I was just curious if anyone else ever had this happen. I am on an android device by the way if that makes a difference because the updated app is not technically out for android yet. Another thing to note that I thought was interesting was I have had a board for over a year and just picked this one up the other day and the new one seems a little bit quicker and able to cruise around 19-20mph and my older board I can only cruise around 17-18 mph comfortably.
-
@trappar
if you got your plus on Friday then you've probably discovered that it's not as easy as finding a hill. A more powerful motor means it can push back pretty hard, even downhill. Am I right?I skimmed too quickly and missed that you'd already answered my question. Sorry about that. -
@ahxe45 yep, leaderboard top speed is capped at 22.24 MPH for the OG Onewheel.
-
I think Future Motion should not limit the leader board because doing so makes everyone striving for top speeds try harder to try and crack this issue and we are going to have an "I tried to push past 22.7 mph on the app and ended up over speeding and now I am off my board while I recover from my injuries thread."
The boards do what they do. Let people get the speeds they have ridden and I think some injuries will be prevented.
Go ahead and freeze my mileage or reset my board and I won't be happy either.
I enjoy riding and recording my mileage.
Please take the governor off the top speeds.

Finally got the plus. The speed was good. The ride was smooth. Pushback was early but I think because of how smooth it is now. Next step learn the limit. My top on v1 was 25.1 on onewheel buddy app Then my battery module went out I sent it in got it fixed once I got it back I could never get my boarding pass 20 and they reset the Leader board And the plus I only got to 20.4. Im 160lbs rider

Aahxe45 18 April 2017, 13:22 UTC
@snwbrdwndsrf so how do they even decide who is ranked #1? it looks like the list is alphabetical but if people are hitting above 22.24 do they default the speed to 22.24 or do you have to hit that exact speed to make it on the list? Since I posted that screenshot I have hit over 22.24 a couple of times and still nothing even after resetting my top speed. I know you probably don't know the answer but just putting it out there in case anyone does.
-
@ahxe45 looks alphabetical to me too.
-
Sorry that the application is blocked !!!
-
@tony-at-83 yep, it's sad. Nice top speed!

Thank you😉👍

@carl not a good idea to try if you ask me. He already said it was too late by the time he saw his speed.
