But, do you experience push back in Mission mode specifically? Or Delirium?

Its way less pushback in mission! It's more "tender", it's almost like inside of your head, your not sure if you imagine it or if it's real.
In Delirium I definitely feel it more.

It's not death if you refuse it!
It is if you accept it.

@khayman that's helpful thanks! I'm going to try some other modes get a feel for it.

Pushback is real, I assure you, and we all have the same hardware and software. but it’s more real in delerium for sure. happening for me at 15mph in delerium

traveling at 23 mph on the board for any amount of time is an insane death wish

Max speed for Mission according to FM = 19mph.
    Goes 23+mph and crashes.

    The board must be defective!

Just take your time and learn how to ride it. What you did was basically the equivalent of having little to no skateboarding experience, stepping on a skateboard and bombing a hill, getting speed wobbles and wrecking, then saying skateboards are defective.

Also: Pushback was never intended to be a speedometer. People feel it at different speeds, I suspect it depends on weight/terrain/riding style more than absolute speed

I have around 100 miles on xr I have had a few minor wipeouts at slow speeds. But Saturday I was in mission mode cruising along at I would guess to be about 15 miles an hour , I sped up just a bit with absolutely no push back the board seemed like it just shut off and nosed dived and I went to the hospital. I have experienced plenty of push back and respected it ever time . So it seems others have been having some of the same issues , so because some have not had this issue does not mean it does not exist

Push back aside, you'll also get used to using your ears more to listen for motor working harder which is usually a good sign to slow down (on my v1 at least).

@regulat0r I do the same thing on my V1 but the Plus and XR is very hard to tell based on the sound of the motor because it's so silent compared to the V1.

@rado riding in delerium mode makes the motor easier to hear and also provides a faster torque response for bumps or dips in the road. all my nosedives have been in mission mode, never had one in delerium

Even for experienced riders, it is also very easy to deactivate the board accidentally because of poor foot position- hitting bumps repeatedly can move your feet around a lot.

I really didn't mean to get going 23mph, that's just the speed I finally ended up at, right before I crashed, as the nose dove on me.
If I was the only one on this forum with this experience, then I'd write it off as completely user error, but the fact that several people are experiencing similar issues, I believe it's a bug in mission mode (nose dives are a known issue with OneWheel). Maybe FM could address and save some people from getting hurt.

@mconn That sounds almost exactly like what I experienced. I'm familiar with push back, and have experienced it many times in other modes. I've had 2 nose dives, both occurred in Mission mode in circumstances similar to what you described. I think there's little to no push back in Mission (for me at least), and maybe even something worse going on, like the board not balancing correctly, causing nose dives.
Maybe FM is aware, or maybe there's been a fix in a recent software update? I'm going to check release notes if they are available.

@scotterer I drive almost always in mission mode and I haven't nosedived yet, I have felt the pushback many times, it's subtle but fully working. Don't push through it.

@khayman I've been up to 19mph in Mission and haven't really felt what I'd call pushback. Went to Sequoia just to see what it feels like... Definitely haven't felt that in Mission...

@reddog that's because in Sequoia it has way more power due to lower speed to use for pushback.

@khayman I hear you... I just haven't felt anything resembling that in Mission. I don't ride Delirium... is there significant pushback in that mode?

@reddog hard to say, for me I think it's significant but others seems to think it's the other way around.
I'm a light weight guy with only 68kg.

@scotterer pretty dumb move! Sounds like you had the knowledge and STILL nosedived! I can say all my nosedives were from user error and my own ignorance...I doubt your board is defective...from the sound of it you were probably already too deep into your lean for the board to pushback and right you...it did it’s best to keep up with your momentum until balance, inertia and gravity took over! Feel better bro!

@scotterer I can guarantee you one thing. Once you nosedive once or twice you will have a whole new respect and appreciation for your OW. You find that sweet spot and just enjoy the ride. Every nosedive I hear about (and those I took) were from being a brand new rider. With experience you learn to FEEL what it can and can’t do. I know my last post was repeating other points and I’m late to the party so I apologize...haven’t been on this forum much lately.

That's for sure...since my nosedive I rarely experience push back anymore. I've got a much more natural sense for the limits of the board and its (and my own) comfort zone. Pushing the board to anything above 18mph is just asking to be tossed
