    @Daymos I really don’t believe that they are waiting for parts from China/Asia or wherever, and I know they ‘tell’ us that only one screw is the same as the XR, ALL of these products can be supplied immediately from the Middle East, the only thing that can’t is the motor.

    I absolutely love the product and the thought of owning a OW, however they need to change the way they’re working out f they want to survive, it’s ok having millions of dollars in the bank for Pint preorders, but customers and reviews are what keep a company on the right track.
    I really hope FM have learnt from this and in future don’t release a product until it’s on the shelf.

    @Mark-Vlogs you make valid points.

    When I say waiting for parts and Asia.. It could mean any part and from any country.

    You mentioned a motor... could well be.

    I believe they are waiting for something to come it's like there are 2 main batch dates.. mid July and mid August whatever that means.

    I really dont know tbh...

    @kraken640 haha, you gonna wait...
    I ordered at May 19. showing August 6 for quite a while, went to August 5 then jumped between these two. Now 7 days pushback to August 13, not satisfied.
    I’m quite irritated about the fact someone who ordered last week is only 4 days later in queue than someone who ordered almost 2 month ago...

    I get that. I think that the August time frame was always going to happen. Too bad they couldn't have just put that out to begin with. Even last week when I ordered mine there was nothing in the verbage that said it was a pre-order. It did however say that shipments would start after July. Maybe that didn't happen with the orders placed previous to mine.

    Personally I think they have been ramping up for production and haven't built one yet. Well, except for the prototypes that are on youtube. I feel that they are in the same boat that Tesla was with the model 3 a little bit ago in that they're setting up the manufacturing equipment, processes, people and supply chain. At least at Tesla they called it pre-orders and everyone knew it would be a while until they got their car.

    This is a startup company. They came up with a great idea/product and the demand for it is probably more than they thought would happen. Now they have the burden of meeting the demand. I may be reaching but I don't think very far in that I feel that they have outside investors helping out. Our measly pre-orders or whatever you want to call them would never be enough. I admire the motivation and direction FM is going. I think they will hit it out of the ball park as the saying goes as long as they can get all of the business and production stuff figured out. Bottom line though I agree with you, it does suck waiting.

  • Mark Vlogs @Senior Coffee 6 July 2019, 18:10 UTC

    @kraken640 They’ve certainly received somewhere in the region of $5M in preorder sales. When the first orders where placed it didn’t say deliveries will start in X, later on it said deliveries start in May and now it says in July.
    Everyone keeps going on about this being a start up company, it’s not, it was a start up company in 2013 - 2015 but not anymore. It’s a company that’s created jobs, moved into a huge space (largest EV manufacturing plant in the Western Hemisphere) and now should be delivering a working product. A company should not be taking money without a delivery date, unless it’s on Kickstarter.

    I guarantee they didn't, this is EXACTLY the same as when both the + and the XR came out (for those of us around long enough to remember)!

    In both cases, I watched everyone on this forum lamenting their order delays and I waited until they were shipping before I placed my order. I do agree, they really need to manage the announcements and deliveries of their new products WAY better.

    @OneDan if that's the case my respect levels are lowering.

    I respect them for building such a great product.

    The product alone is what's keeping most of us here.. once the novelty wears off they will need to fix up their customer service skills

    So I call this phase two. Phase 1 was the kickstarter and producing what they did for the first number of years. I call it the mom and pop company. They had a vision which they turned into a product and just enough resources to achieve what they did in the first years. Now they want to grow into a much bigger and better company along with producing better products so essentially it's kickstarter all over again. Gaining more funding, building a real factory, hiring more people and marketing. Yup, our pint orders are helping with that but they'll need much more $$ to keep it going. Getting pre-orders seems to be the normal thing to do this decade because I've seen a number of companies do it. Tesla is one that I can think of at the moment. It is definitely a risk but it appears that a number of us took the leap to the tune of $5M.

    It sucks to have to wait and even worse gamble with our hard earned money on something that right now is vaporware. I took the plunge because I believe they'll pull if off. I believe all of us that put our money down on the pint are intelligent and believe in this company and the product they put out. I'm going to stand behind them until they prove me wrong. Am I stupid for thinking this way? Maybe so, maybe not. I have a 50/50 shot.

    Daymos @Senior Coffee 7 July 2019, 11:24 UTC

    @kraken640

    It's not that deep.

    They advertised shipping in May or June so when purchasing one, it's wasnt about having faith in them or caring how they do as company.

    My focus is.. I like the product and they said its available in may or june so I'll buy one.

    The issue is communication.

    If they need to raise capital before they can even start the process then it means they have mislead everyone and that's even more sinister.

    Business can get business loans... ok it's cheaper to get money from the customer because they dont have any interest to pay back and they actually make a ton of interest by having our money sit in their bank.

    However you want to gloss it they should communicate it's a start up all over again.

    Personally they have been making board for years, they have staff and a new facility .. if it's still operating like a start up company then they are doing something very wrong.

    But as I said before.. communication is the way forward and to get full support from everyone who appreciates a start up style run business model.

    Exactly my experience as well... I was actually hoping the Pint would be different because they are a bigger company now and really pushed the advertising and social media game for it.

    I think my OW+ slipped by 12 week something like that. The XR was only 2 or 4 weeks.

    Surely, no company should be allowed to just move the ship date again and again and again as if though customers are nothing. I have never once been contacted by a human about the delays, no apologies, zero customer service.

    1,000USD and a customer waiting for their product half way across the world is obviously just nothing to this company.

    My shipping estimate has slipped back twice in one day. They really have no idea when these things are going to ship

    Senior Coffee 24 August 2019, 21:51 UTC

    I'm thinking it's a computer that is coming up with the shipping dates and it's doing an extremely bad job of it. lol. It's actually so comical I can't even begin to get upset by it.
    I'll get mine when I get it, I just ordered a couple days ago. Hey maybe it'll be here by Christmas.

    Alki_Soupboy @Senior Coffee 26 August 2019, 04:38 UTC

    @Senior-Coffee The dates seem to be pretty on-point these days. Haven't had a slip for weeks myself (I have 3 days left!), and many other people are reporting that they are getting a tracking number the day before or the day of the estimated shipping date.

  • D
    Daymos @Alki_Soupboy 26 August 2019, 10:14 UTC

    @Alki_Soupboy my estimated shipping date is 28th August.

    It feels weird in almost there after 3 months... anyone else feel strange as their date approached?

    I'll find out today if mine gets shipped a day early like some others have reported.

    Mine is being sent to the UK with accessories so I hope they all come together... will be cheaper for them to send 1 package I'm sure unless accessories high cost factors in their solo delivery costs.

  • Mark Vlogs @Daymos 26 August 2019, 11:30 UTC

    @Daymos I’m interested in seeing how much your custom charges and import duties costs. I estimated it to be about 300.

  • D
    Daymos @Mark Vlogs 26 August 2019, 12:14 UTC

    @Mark-Vlogs I'll keep you posted

    If its 2 separate deliveries I wonder if it would make a difference to how they calculate this random charge.

    The product costs approx £800 overall so I wonder what the customs charge it set at?

  • Mark Vlogs @Daymos 26 August 2019, 16:32 UTC

    @Daymos I think you’ll pay 20% Vat on the full price inclusive of shipping. When I bought mine I was charged £940 including shipping.

    Then on top of this another 2.6 - 6% plus vat for import duty.

    This is another reason why I ordered the second time from a UK supplier, my total cost is £995, but still no word as to when it’ll arrive.

  • D
    Daymos @Mark Vlogs 26 August 2019, 16:43 UTC

    @Mark-Vlogs I think I paid £980 in total and that was the $1200 package I believe.

    So you say £300 should be a good figure to prepare for?

  • Mark Vlogs @Daymos 26 August 2019, 18:03 UTC

    @Daymos it should be less thank that, I was working on £300 and hoping that it would be £200. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.
