@a_onekatie and @SlyFoxxx. 6800 miles on that grip tape. The treaded Hoosier 5.5 has been working great in deep snow. The Soccasin was great, too, but not for any gravel rough surface. I did get Geoff Oliver's "One Wheel XR Snow Chains" to use on frozen safe ice on ponds and lakes -- but have not yet done it. In the photo I like the Snow curl as the Onewheel pushes through. 6800, Man that is amazing. While not a record amount of miles, considering what you are putting that board through, it is impressive.
Can't remember if you did the "Badger" waterproofing thing to that board.

    fellow winter experts

hey so i was gonna create a secure place to store my machines, but it's not isolated. i'm in seattle, so wont get that cold. but i can get below freezing.

i guess that's not ideal cause the battery will get cold and will reduce my range? i should store them inside a heated area to get more range when it's cold? or is there a workaround

    thanks

@blkwalnutgrwr That's quite clever. Ever tried the snow sock Badgerwheel carry?
I got one 2 years back and it hasn't snowed since so haven't been able to try it yet D:

@Lia -- The Badger Soccasin works great in snow, but it is not tolerant of much riding on pavement. Mine did not last all of last winter. Even these cable chains have started to fray a little riding on slushy pavement. I took them off now to wait for significantly snowy weather.

@blkwalnutgrwr Thanks for the heads up. I'll probably use the sock primarily for offroad snow riding then to keep it healthy. Doesn't seem to snow as much as it used to here in the UK so might not have to worry to be honest.

No snow here to share however we get some crazy lingering mist and fog in winter so I guess this counts. Been lingering for the past few days round me. Forgot what the house looks like across the way ;)

Snow build-up riding without a fender. The trail was not even excessively snowy. The tire just throws all the snow it picks up right up against my leading foot. Four miles worth here. And I forgot to bring my snow brush with me this time.

Hi @Lia -- The lower profile does seem to get snowed over easily. I am finding the lifted ride refreshing. And it's almost bottomless dipping the nose for a tight turn. The ride feels so good I lifted both my boards.
(edit) With the steeper angle of repose, mounting has sometimes been trying for me in slippery snow.

Thanks @blkwalnutgrwr :) Glad I'm not the only one that had issues with the nose getting real low on tight bends.
I might try it on mine next time I'm looking at accessories, probably make drops a bit more graceful too without my usual tail scrape.

@Lia -- Wet snow, wet grass, and a slick tire together can make dynamically unstable Onewheel rides.

@HanahsDax , Great heart! Hubby and I talked about doing that in the sand over the weekend (our first visit to the beach with our OWs) ... but instead we settled on photos of happy, curvy lines (basic carving).

BTW, I also loved your snow spiral posted elsewhere. (Are we permitted to talk about external community sites ...??) Well done ... especially hiding your footprints required to take the shot.)
