User Customized 'Shaping Level' 1-10

In reading the forum it seems like the primary issue users have (aside from the obvious battery limitation) is of the 3 possible riding style settings, one is downright unsafe ('Classic Mode') having been cited the cause of a fall for nearly everyone who's used it (granted it should be available maybe just more appropriately called 'Learning Mode'), one has the nose tilted up so high that it's really only applicable to 'park' or 'trick' style riding ('Elevated'), and the only other option ('Extreme Mode' -probably better titled 'The Only Mode Feasible for Riding') which leaves it somewhere in the middle, a bit too low for most according to user posts on the forum.
Call me crazy but it seems like if were looking at a standard 1-10 setting range, the Classic Mode is a 2, the Extreme Mode is a 5 and the Elevated Mode is a 9. Wouldn't it make so much more sense to just give the user the option to set the 'Riding Level' from 1-10? Especially since it's solely dependent on individual riding style. I'm assuming most people would be using Levels 5, 6, and 7, and almost never using Level 2 and 9. Considering the comfort level is almost entirely dependent on this setting I would think there isn't a more pressing update for users (aside from battery) than this.

@poopmonkey first of all, i appreciate the input. you're right, most of us would like to have more options than the three we're currently provided with and we most likely wouldn't keep the classic mode at all (better to get rid off, if you ask me. but then again it's just me). i also agree, that the name "extreme" is just a tad too extreme. haha.
where i definitely disagree is, that in elevated the nose is tilted up too high and only applicable to park or trick riding. yes, i'd recommend elevated in both cases, no it's not only suitable for those.. i'd rather say that it's personal preference. if you have a skate, longboard, (maybe) snowboard background you're probably more likely to use extreme, yes. but if you like to wakeboard or surf for example it's way more natural to use elevated. i'm a board sport addict, so i kinda do or did practice most of the more common ones (skate, longboard, slalomboard, mountainboard, freebord, snowboard, surf,...). ergo i do like both modes. prefer one or the other for different use-cases. but to say elevated is to high is just an overstatement :D

Ok. So today I tried riding elevated for the very first time. I rode it on my usual way through town to work, the same that I've ridden hundred times before.
The conclusion is that I have to wholeheartedly agree with @chabis, and disagree with the observation of @poopmonkey.
While I can feel the difference, especially when standing still, it's really not as extreme as you make it out to be. While riding, it was an extremely subtle difference, that was in no way unpleasant, just slightly different.
I actually had to double-check if I did set it in elevated and wasn't just imagining the change.I'm not sure where on this forum you get the "a bit too low for most according to user posts on the forum" from, because I'm pretty sure most like extreme the way it is. Anyway, if you think it's to low, elevated i apparently the way to go, because it's a very slight difference.

@germx That's good to know. I haven't tried Elevated yet, and I was wondering what happens when you first mount the board. I'm used to bringing it to level to engage the motor, would it think that I'm actually trying to move forward since level is considered nose-down in Elevated mode, and take off on me?
But it sounds like it's pretty slight, and probably wouldn't even engage until I have the board at the proper tilt. Still need to try it out sometime!
-
@thegreck I honestly didn't feel any difference mounting it. When you level it out, it's very hard to be exact about it.
Maybe the motor "catches" you some degree earlier, but it's not a problem. It's still quite level.I tried switching to elevated while already standing on the board, engaged in extreme. It's a rather fun feeling as it changes modes.
I would recommend trying that just because it's fun.
I haven't tried switching at any higher speed, I'm guessing you can't when riding faster than dismount speed? -
@germx I understand you can not switch at higher speeds, something like over .5 or 1 mile an hour. I also have never tried Elevated Mode, I might have to on these Mountain bike trails I have been riding.
-
@Dude Yeah, I figured that was the case, for safety reasons.
I think you should, it's really quite nice for more uneven terrain. And it's really easy to switch back :) -

I live in Maryland and have been taking this thing on more and more treacherous terrain. Roots rocks reggae and steep hills. I should make a vid.. anyway elevated for sure plain wack on street top but def nice or better for heavy offroad
