Tire Pressure Monitor
-
It would be great to have a pressure sensor inside the wheel that feeds data to the app. i would think this would be an easy (relatively, at least) and inexpensive add on.
-
Thats a good idea. My car has electronic tire pressure monitor as well.
I wonder if onewheel could develop into a company which has a "default trim" and a "luxury model" for people who like a few more bells and whistles.

There are aftermarket ones already. Uses a phone app. Example:

@ThatGuy looks cool. Unfortunately, that one only reads down to 28 PSI. Ah, found the right one: http://www.amazon.com/FOBO-FB1574-Bike-Black/dp/B00YCAVGMK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1442982962&sr=8-1&keywords=fobo+bike
ordered! thanks! It comes with two pressure caps. If anyone is interested in the other one, let me know. We can do a paypal exchange for half the price.

If you have time, let us know how well it works on a OW.
-
@ThatGuy absolutely! It will be here on Thursday.
-
@ThatGuy Damn. The cap hits the oblong black piece attached to the frame in the middle of the wheel hub. I even asked my local flatfix guy if he could replace the valve stem with a shorter one. No dice. The caps and software work perfectly, though. It just cannot be used on OW. Unless I can sort out a solution, it looks like these are headed back to amazon.
-
Gah! Thanks for checking it out at least sidebox.
-
@utsu I was so excited about it too... I actually have not given up hope yet. I ordered a couple of angled valve extenders that MIGHT do the trick for a couple extra bucks... I'll let you know when they come in.

Was just about to suggest that. Thanks for the report.
-
Yes keep us posted. It's kind of a pain top get a air chuck in there.

This would be the greatest thing if it fit...

Thanks for testing that. Bummer it didn't work. These ones look lower profile, and are simpler to use. They're cool because they set their baseline at the pressure of the tire when you put them on... I'll bite the bullet and try them and report back (they come in 2-pack or 4-pack, this is the 2-pack)

@kbern hate to say it, but those look about the same size as the other ones. My valve angles showed up and are way too long... Still looking up alternate options, including replacing the whole valve with something like this: http://www.nomartirechanger.com/mobile/Product.aspx?id=1170

@sidebox I agree
