I used to be a onewheel owner but ended up selling mine for the purchase price. I came across this ad on craiglist this morning. If this board wasn't stolen & is working it would be one incredible deal.
-
It's suspicious that it's for sale in the very area one was reported stolen.
Maybe an interest buyer could ask him for the serial number and see if he backs out?

Same board is also listed in the Ventura section of Craigslist.
-
If it doesn't come with a charger, it's a pretty tell-tale sign.
-
@forzabucks I just emailed him about the charger and serial number. I'll let you know if he responds.
-
I was able to get him to respond. He only would tell me that he wouldn't ship the board. I couldn't get the S/N from him. He also didn't say if he had the charger or not.
-
@J-Glide Doesn't seem like the type of person you would want to arrange a "meet up" with, especially when he knows you will have at least $800 cash in your pocket.
-
Who was it that had their board stolen in that area? Someone needs to tag him in this thread. He should contact the guy and arrange a meetup, then show up with the police and his proof of purchase.
-
@ricoburgos You knew the guy, right?
-
@forzabucks You need to stop using cash ;)
-
Why is this board on CL so suspicious? Just because of the price?
-
There was a board stolen in Santa Monica two weeks ago (a guy we know through other people who have boards). Then this one comes up for cheap with no charger in SANTA MONICA! Its the board! Why would you spend 1600 plus tax, do all the research (see ad on Craigs list) and then sell it for 800? Its stolen and its this guys board. I would bet almost anything on it. @njcustom
Still possible its not stolen but not likely...
-
@MichaelW the ad on CL doesn't say anything about a charger.. Someone should go meet the guy.. If it is the stolen board he's not to smart for posting it and most likely some young punk.. I wouldn't worry about meeting him..
-
He won't get back to me. I've sent him several messages. I would meet him in a second. With a few of my buddies as back up. I'm not stupid :)
-
@MichaelW did you notice the ad has a GPS location?
-
@MichaelW Agreed it's got to be the stolen board. Maybe if ricoburgos friend sent another email from different email address without mentioning the serial # or charger and showed up w/ police. Only problem is the victim needs to make the report and the dude will probably just say he bought it from someone else...but oh well the key is to get this guy his board back.
-
I sent him an email asking if he had the charger for sale. No response..
-
It's illegal to sell stolen property and if the buyer shows up with a cop and can prove ownership, he will likely confiscate the board without having to pay the guy for it..
the hard part is getting a cop to go with you to a shady craigslist meetup. I dont think you can hire off duty cops for anything other than private security.
-
@madsb yes i know him. he is not on the forum but he emailed the guy too. no response.
-
The guy just wrote me back saying it sold today..
