Why are riders moving to and starting Facebook groups when there is a perfectly good Forum right here?
Maybe there is a good reason for this that we don't know about? -
JJacoNZ 4 May 2017, 18:06 UTC
Facebook groups comes and go, all knowledge gets lost once they close down, this forum will be here as long as Onewheel exists.

@JacoNZ Probably exposure. I think you get more attention there and people of all different interests (OneWheelers and NoWheelers) are already connected . People like to show off to friends and FB is the perfect place for it.
I only go there for the OW Owners Group on my wifes account. All else is a time killer.
-
You can't post videos here, and getting a photo to post is a pain. Those are two reasons.

@JacoNZ It also seems that more people check their facebook throughout the day compared to this forum, so if you have a problem or question it gets answered almost instantly on facebook where here it could take a day or two. Although I have noticed that the facebook group does not seem quite as friendly as the forum has always been for the most part. I had two people "husband and wife ironically" get upset with me because I offered someone else (not them) $65 for a secondhand fender they had instead of wanting to pay full price from future motion. They were not the sellers I might add.

Actually, the main reason is, this is an unmoderated forum. What we need is a moderated forum, I'm astonished no one has started one.... :)

This is the most correct answer. If you have been here during the Chinese spam attacks you'll understand

As @thegreck mentioned, the main reason I went to Facebook is to be able to share photos, videos and even some live video easily.
That being said, I still love to surf this forum at work and I feel like for the most part, each thread here has a purpose. There are less "shitposts" or pointless threads here forsure. I've learned a lot here so I'll keep checking in. -

I love both ! But I'll never give up the forum because that's where it all began :)
-
@jeffmccosker also, we can't really sub forum properly, or setup like a store or trading area... I suppose most of us just hit new posts anyway, but, it would be best to have a tidy house for historical purposes, especially for searching and photos and videos ect that is the weird part,,is there are so many vendors here, that none of them are into sponsoring our own forum.... it's pretty cheap, i would have to imagine these days... ? It's not like FM. Gives a crap if this forum says HEY GO TO THE REAL FORUM. Cause clearly they aren't hanging out here

@jeffmccosker the Chinese SPAM was the exact reason why I started the Facebook group.

Just had to share this from FB lol...

@Aaron-Broward-FL -- LOL, that is true, but the mods of the FB page are fairly inept at this stuff.
Frankly, the community is better off with mods who aren't either idiots or total dicks, and it would be very smart of FM to make this place successful via a smartly moderated board.
-
I just meant like sub forums and stuff not like cutting people off.
And a store... :) -

@OW-Miami
The question is do you want to be a member of the Facebook group? -
Aahxe45 9 May 2017, 15:56 UTC
@itwire I think he does and that's why he keeps posting about how much he doesn't care.

@itwire
The fact is that I'm a member of many of them - mostly high end gray market sites where the admins are running things properly - which is a requirement when you have guys trading/selling/buying items that run from the hundreds to the tens of thousands of dollars.
Because of my experience I know what a good group admin acts like - and brother, let me tell ya, from my perspective the admin(s) in that group are pretty darn poor at what they do. The group will continue to be 'successful' just like the forum here, because I think it's obvious that OW folks are pretty tolerant of shit management (See: Future Motion)...
Oh, and as far as this group goes - no - I would not like to rejoin. So if you're somehow able to make that happen, don't bother with it. I'm perfectly happy with this unmoderated forum.
