Brake problems?

Hi, has anyone experienced issues with the braking? I was leaning back, to slow down, and the brakes were not working. I had to jump off the board. I thought it was a fluke, so tried again, same result.

@cmgosline There are no "brakes" on the OneWheel. The forward/backward motion is controlled by the angle of the board. I used to feel the same issue when I first started until I realized that, while my body was leaning back, my feet were actually keeping the board leaning forward. You need to practice at slow speeds leaning the board itself forward and back and seeing how it reacts by moving you forwards and backwards while you try to keep your body balanced in the center of the board. Some say to pretend like your front foot is pressing a gas pedal, where you angle your feet, but not your body.
Of course if you actually lean the board backward and it does NOT slow down or reverse, then you probably have a defective board, perhaps one of the gyros is not working properly. At which point, I'd say it is not safe to ride.
Hopefully this helps.

@OneDan thank you for the advice! That may be it...I'll try to troubleshoot tonight. I've been riding the board fine, until last night, so I don't think it's user error. If it is a gyro or sensor, do you know if they can troubleshoot remotely? Or how it gets fixed? I've only had the board for about a week.

@cmgosline Yeah, that I don't know, but if you can get it to fail consistently, have someone take video of it happening, then give FM a call and they'll have you email it to them.
