    Here's a guy from a couple of years ago on what looks like a lake bed.

    He appears to be using a Burris treaded tire with embedded screws in the tread to act as studs.

    Is anyone trying this?

    We usually have icy winters in Coastal Alaska, this year we've been having dry power like Colorado. I'd of been out there already if I would have known, but I still only have my stock Vega, so I've been waiting things out.

    Let me know if you do icy terrain riding, I'd love to know how you do it as I'd like to try myself.

    @Kielanders sounds like fun trying, even without the right tires. A trillion years ago we would skateboard on “seal coated” (read:painted) asphalt lots after a rain- felt like ice- but the slide was the point! Try it with what you’ve got. Safety stuff sounds smart if you do tho. Float

    DIY studded tires sounds risky. i'm surprised nobody makes OW tires that are studded!

    Ordered Sage Pint on 3/12/19 (dark grey fender + bumpers, fender since painted silver/chrome). Received my baby on 7/15/19 [ aka "BattleBorn Floater" 🙂 ].

    @Franko

    You'd think, but I actually had an ATV where the factory tire stud kit consisted of a bag of 1/4" hex head screws that you hand installed into the tread knobs.

    @Kielanders We did that as well with motorcycles back in the day.
    Something to consider though. The OW won't function if the battery is under 40` F. Once drawing current Lithium batteries will keep themselves warm, but if you leave your OW in say, the back of your car overnight, You aren't going anywhere. Ask me how I know.
    Once warmed up some, I did a little ice riding, it was.... terrible, but exciting.

    Today I was riding over freezing rain glaze with a Soccasin with great traction.

    Geoff Oliver on the Onewheel Riders group on Facebook February 3 at 2:02 AM posted video of what looked like Onewheel cable chains. He wrote, "OneWheel XR Snow/Ice Chain using 3/32" wire rope. Works like a dream." Comments aplenty and much interest expressed in the group.
