@blkwalnutgrwr Thanks for watching. I’m sure you’ve had many high mileage adventures with your range extenders. How many motors do you have? Two, one with the soccasin and one with the treaded Hoosier?

@HanahsDax You ride Colorado Rocky Mountains, I ride mostly paved Ohio rails-to-trails. Longest single ride of 42 miles; most in a day 64 miles in three outings. Thirty-eight hundred miles on my first motor — now with new bearings; 4100 on my second motor (counting the 900 already on it when I bought it) and the bearings seem fine; and less than 200 on my third. Original battery (with extensions), original controller.

You have the bull by the horns on the Daystreak Board — if you ever fall off the top let it not be for injury! If I ever drop off the V1 Daystreak you can have my place!

@blkwalnutgrwr & @HanahsDax. You are both high mileage owners, what would you say is the component most likely to fail first?

• Motor
• Controller or
• Battery?

I'm thinking the motor is least likely providing you replace bearings before any damage is done.

@stinkyface I’m closing in on 4,000 miles with original battery, controller, motor and bearings. I probably should’ve replaced bearings a long time ago I just wanted to see how long an OEM board/components (only aftermarket product I have is FF Treaded Hoosier Tire) would hold up in various conditions and terrain. Lately I’ve had to ride in Mission due to this horrible motor noise I get when in Delirium which is what I rode most of the time prior to issue. I’ve had a couple battery/app issues too. Occasionally it shows 100% on meter bar at the top even with usage showing a percentage. The problem here is if I try to go downhill it gives me the regen warning. This is one of the big reasons I use the app. If I didn’t get that warning and figured I already used up some battery and starting bombing downhill the board would shut off and nothing good comes out of that scenario. I monitor my temps frequently and never try to let the controller run hot for long periods of time without cool down breaks. Long ass story short, yes I believe it would be the bearings first, battery next and motor if no bearings replaced at all and then controller.

Holy crap! I had NO IDEA the XR got that kind of range, how is that even possible???? Now I understand why you guys say the pint can't compare, lol.

@HanahsDax A question about controller temperature: What temperature is hot for the controller? Yesterday, on a flatland twenty-six mile run cruising around 15mph, I was surprised that with outdoor temperatures in the upper fifties my controller temperature was consistently in the mid-nineties. Could it be that I am using carbon steel ruckus rails instead of heat-dispersing aluminum? Or might it be all the extra parallel power? Makes me worry a little about the coming summer days.

Also, I have heard of another rider complain about awful noise in delirium that goes away in mission -- this one on a Onewheel Plus.

@blkwalnutgrwr If the controller reaches 130 degrees Fahrenheit I consider it running hot. Up to 100 degrees is considered fine for electronics but I’m no expert now. I usually only get high temps when riding really rough terrain or steep inclines.

@a_onekatie I have the option of gaining almost 800 vertical feet with access to the Gondola. That gave me the most regen capabilities which off set some of the usage. I wish I had taken a screen shot of all trips regen and added it up. I charged with a standard XR charger and never let my board get below 40%. It was about 5 hours of ride time and with breaks it was a 16 hour ordeal. Some guy in Florida did 50 miles on his Pint with the hypercharger and lots of Dunkin Donut coffee breaks. I stuck to breweries and bars on my mission.

I haven't really paid any attention to how hot my controller got, but Summer here I was often riding in 110 to 120 F temps. So, That would be the minimum temp of the controller. No ill effects that I know of.
