    A few weeks ago my stock Vega finally let out its last breath at 7208km; over 2 years after her first ride. I could have patched her up again and carried on but I could literally shine a light through the tyre in one spot (confirmed after taking it off). Slime was no longer an option and since I ride at 25PSI and I wasn't going to trust that tiny tear not to just rip open being as the threads were worn through too in that area.

    Featured in the model is a rough recreation of the internal stator inside what would be the Hypercore hub. I didn't fancy taking mine apart to get exact dimensions so used other pics and some pixel math to estimate it. Regardless I think it looks really cool and gives the model a heart of sorts.

    If you'd like to build one yourself check my MyMiniFactory or Thingiverse. I've provided all the 3D models and the BOM for each version on the stand.

    I started work on a stand for it to sit on a few months ago assuming it wouldn't make it much longer. Oh how wrong was I. Originally it was just for the tyre but I later modified the base to accept a footpad. Much later my rail guards looked like they needed swapping so I decided to make the model accept 2 rails with guards or the 3D printable dummy ones to show those off too. In my case I didn't have spare rails so printed replica ones which are included in the files.

    Of course it wouldn't be complete without RGB so I kitted it out with some addressable RGB strips and rings that are controlled by 2 Arduino Nano's.

    That's all, sharing in case anyone else wanted to make one for their fallen tyre or just to hold a spare like mine was doing for months. Thanks for reading <3

    @blkwalnutgrwr Thanks :)
    After all we've been through it'd be a shame to throw it away or watch the dog tear it apart.

    @stinkyface Not sure how long mine would last if I let my doggo have a go :) What sort of dog do you have?

    @Lia chocolate Labrador with some cocker spaniel for floppier ears!

    He has destroyed a couch and a lot of shoes, but the Vega maybe didn't taste so good.
